For its 2025 iteration, the Artistic Plates Project by the Coalition for the Homeless returns, featuring a new collection of artistic plates designed by various artists. These plates will be used to serve meals to economically disadvantaged New York residents.
In conjunction with Frieze New York taking place in early May, this year’s display boasts an outstanding array of 50 up-and-coming and accomplished artists such as Takashi Murakami, Rashid Johnson, Yoshitomo Nara, Philip Guston, Sterling Ruby, and the late Robert Indiana, with more to be announced.
From its establishment in 2020, this project has managed to amass over $7 million USD for its affiliated organization by partnering with around 150 renowned artists. Through collaborations with local organizations, they’ve provided emergency aid such as food, clothing, eviction prevention, and job training for those in need. The proceeds from each piece sold are sufficient to feed over 100 hungry and homeless individuals on their own.
Both new and experienced collectors can seize the chance to own artwork from some of today’s renowned artists through these special plates. Out of each artist’s edition of 250, the first 100 will be available for purchase at Frieze New York. The remaining plates will be offered on Artware Editions starting May 13th, 10 am ET.
