Artist Chase Shakur Styles UGG with Atlanta Flair

Atlanta’s rich musical landscape – from R&B and rock to jazz – deeply shaped artist Chase Shakur. He describes his city as having a unique and soulful sound that blends across genres. Shakur feels constantly inspired by Atlanta, and strives to reflect that influence in his style and music.

Inspired by his hometown’s style, Shakur collaborated with UGG to create fresh designs for the new season. He focused on versatile pieces like the Lo Lowmel sneaker and the Tasman Track Jacket, building outfits that express his individual personality – much like his music, where he mixes different genres to create a unique and signature sound.

The 24-year-old artist and rapper credits his early musical influences to the local underground scene. He explained how he first got involved: he joined an art summer program in middle school hoping to impress a girl, and discovered recording and singing. A year later, he started rapping and participating in freestyle sessions, calling it a fortunate coincidence.

Shakur is deeply passionate about his work, which led him to become a producer and songwriter. He’s released three albums – *it’s not you it’s me*, *It’ll be fine*, and *WONDERLOVE* – with a deluxe version of his latest album coming out this winter. He believes self-expression goes beyond music, though, and extends to fashion. He explains that fashion and music are closely linked, as the clothes we choose reflect our emotions. “What we wear – the colors, the textures, even whether we choose sweats or jeans – is all about how we’re feeling,” he says. “For me, fashion adds another layer to my artistry, letting people connect with what I’m going through.”

Shakur Stevenson collaborated with stylist Manny Omitto to show off his timeless style. He paired the Classic Ultra Mini Weather Hybrid boot with a layered outfit and a tie, and showcased the Men’s Peakmod Lowcut with an all-black leather look. Stevenson says he typically wears comfortable, all-black clothing in the studio, always including his UGG Classic boots, which are a daily essential. But when he’s dressing up, his UGGs still fit his retro-inspired outfits. He’s recently been leaning towards button-up shirts and a preppy aesthetic.

Wearing his UGG boots, Shakur revisited important places in Atlanta that influenced him, thinking about the city’s unique fashion and how its artists shaped his music. He toured spots like Astros Studio and areas in East Atlanta where he often hung out with friends. He shared what these locations meant to him, recalling Golden Glide as a skating rink he hadn’t visited in over a decade. He also spoke about Astros Studio, where he recorded his first two projects. He explained that he couldn’t afford studio time back then, but his producers worked there, allowing him to record secretly at first. Eventually, he was able to pay for sessions, which felt like a meaningful accomplishment.

Knowing how hard the artist and producer has worked makes his new album release even more exciting. The deluxe version of his album is coming this winter, following the original release of *WONDERLOVE* on February 7th. He’s eager for fans to hear how his sound has evolved and anticipates they’ll appreciate the mix of genres he’s known for. He shared, “Atlanta gets really cold! I released a project last winter, and now I’m dropping the deluxe version this winter too. I really needed those UGGs back then [laughs]. But I’ll be ready for the cold this time!”
