As a critic, I have to say Apple TV+ has really struck gold with “The Studio.” It’s officially their biggest success story so far. The show absolutely dominated the Emmys this year, taking home an incredible 13 awards by the end of the night – more than any other series. It’s a clear sign that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have created something truly special.
The show was already a big winner, having received nine awards at the Creative Arts Emmys earlier in the week. It continued its success on the main Emmy night, taking home four more awards, including the prestigious award for best comedy series.
Seth Rogen won the award for best actor in a comedy. He and Evan Goldberg also won for directing and writing the comedy, completing a successful night for the pair.
“The Studio” follows a Hollywood executive, portrayed by Seth Rogen, as he juggles the demands of his job with his passion for filmmaking.
The show stars Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn. It debuted on Apple TV+ in March 2025 and has been picked up for another season.
I was hooked on this show almost immediately, and it seemed like everyone else was too! Critics really loved how cleverly it exposed the inner workings of the entertainment world, and I thought the way it was filmed – really sleek and with these amazing, long takes – was brilliant. Plus, let’s be honest, every episode felt like a fun game of ‘spot the celebrity’ with all the cameos!
Wow, the Emmys were amazing! It wasn’t just the big acting awards, but so many of the people behind the scenes got recognized too. Bryan Cranston actually won for his guest appearance in ‘CinemaCon,’ which was awesome! And they gave out awards for everything – casting, cinematography, costumes, even the music and sound! It’s great to see all the hard work on every part of the show get celebrated.
Seth Rogen winning Best Comedy Actor was a standout moment at the awards show. His fellow cast member Ike Barinholtz was up for Best Supporting Actor, and Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O’Hara both received nominations for Best Supporting Actress.
“The Studio” has become the most awarded comedy series in a single season, breaking previous records. It received an impressive 23 nominations – the highest number ever for a first-season comedy. Adding to its success, the show recently earned the Television Critics Association award for best comedy series.
The latest figures show that “The Studio” isn’t just critically acclaimed – it’s a genuine cultural phenomenon, redefining comedy for streaming audiences.
