Here’s a complete schedule of all the new and returning anime series launching in October 2025. For each show, we’ve included a brief summary of the story, as well as information about the main people who created it and the voice actors. The dates mentioned for each series indicate when it will first air in Japan in October.
‘Let’s Play’ (2025– )
This adaptation is based on the popular webcomic by Leeanne M. Krecic (“Mongie”), which follows Sam Young, an up-and-coming game developer, as they work in the gaming industry and deal with feelings for a streamer who lives next door. The show maintains the webcomic’s lighthearted romantic comedy and workplace themes, while also highlighting the world of gaming. It will first air on October 1, 2025.
The animation for the series is done by OLM. They released a summer trailer along with details about the initial staff and cast. The original work by Krecic is listed as the basis for the series.
‘Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-‘ (2018– )
The spiritual love story of Midori Yuma and Laruha is back with Season 2 starting on October 1, 2025. Meanwhile, Aoi Tsubaki’s journey continues at Tenjin-ya, strengthening her connections with both ayakashi and Odanna.
The upcoming season credits production to studios GONZO and Makaria. Details regarding staff and the broadcast timeframe for the fall were revealed in advance.
‘Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!’ (2025– )
This fantasy-romance comedy features a high-society woman with very unusual food preferences. It’s now scheduled to be released on October 2, 2025, a change from its original spring release date. The story closely follows the original source material, focusing on the idea of a “relentlessly hungry villainess.”
Throughout the summer, we shared updates revealing the complete crew and the musicians behind the theme song. In September, we also announced which actors joined the cast.
‘This Monster Wants to Eat Me’ (2025– )
The spooky school story by Sai Naekawa follows Hinako and Shiori, a mermaid with a dangerous appetite who promises to guard Hinako-until she eventually eats her. The television anime series will begin airing on October 2, 2025.
Studio Lings is in charge of the animation. Naoyuki Kuzuya is the chief director, while Yūsuke Suzuki directs. Mitsutaka Hirota writes the scripts, and Keiji Inai creates the music. Details about the main theme songs and broadcasting networks were revealed during the 2025 preview event.
‘May I Ask for One Final Thing?’ (2025– )
Nana Ōtori’s romantic fantasy story, centering on a noblewoman named Scarlet, is taking a turn towards more exciting events and suspense. The anime version will begin airing on October 3, 2025.
The Liden Films Kyoto Studio is handling production, and details about the staff and musicians creating the theme song were revealed in late August, along with the announced release date.
‘Shabake’ (2025– )
I’m really excited about this one! Megumi Hatakenaka’s fascinating stories of yokai – those supernatural creatures from Japan’s Edo period – are finally getting the full TV anime treatment. It’s set to premiere on October 3, 2025 on Fuji TV’s late-night programming. The series centers around a rather delicate young man, the son of a merchant, who has the unique ability to see spirits. Luckily, he’s not alone; he’s helped by a group of mischievous and playful ayakashi – that’s what they call the spirits – who become his companions. It sounds like a really fun and atmospheric mystery, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. You can find more information on the official website.
Bandai Namco Pictures is handling the animation, with Takahiro Ōkawa as the director and Tōko Machida responsible for the series composition. Details regarding the music and voice actors were announced in September.
‘My Hero Academia’ (2016–2025)
The anime adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s story is ending with the Final Season premiering on October 4, 2025. It will cover the Final War and Epilogue story arcs, bringing Deku’s adventure to a dramatic and satisfying conclusion with intense battles.
Okay, so I’m really excited to see Studio Bones back at it again! They’ve brought back the dream team – Naomi Nakayama is directing, with Kenji Nagasaki serving as chief director, and Yuki Hayashi is handling the music. It’s great they’re continuing with this group; they’ve clearly worked well together for a long time, and it promises a consistently high-quality experience. Studio Bones really knows how to assemble a talented crew.
‘SPY x FAMILY’ (2022– )
Get ready! Season 3 of The Forgers arrives on October 4, 2025, and it’s a team-up once more between WIT Studio and CloverWorks. Yukiko Imai is directing the new episodes, and many familiar crew members are returning to their roles.
The music will continue to be handled by (K)NoW_NAME; the artists performing the opening and ending themes, as well as other staff members involved, were revealed in updates released during late summer.
‘To Your Eternity’ (2021– )
Fushi’s journey continues with Season 3 premiering on October 4, 2025. This new season adapts later storylines from the manga, introducing more characters and a larger world.
The animation for Drive leads is being directed by Sōta Yokote, with Kiyoko Sayama serving as chief director. Shinzo Fujita, Kōji Yabuno, and Ryō Kawasaki are returning to handle series composition, character design, and music, respectively.
‘Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota’ (2025– )
The new high school romantic comedy by Fuyu Azuma features a girl who rarely shows emotion and a boy who reacts to everything, and it will begin airing on October 4, 2025.
Studio Polon is creating the series, with Tomohiro Kamitani as director and Michiko Yokote handling series composition. The music is being composed by Yukari Hashimoto and Tetsuya Shitara. New cast members were revealed in September.
‘Tales of Wedding Rings’ (2024– )
The beloved fantasy romance is back with Season 2 premiering on October 4, 2025, as Satou’s journey-where marriage is linked to both strength and fate-continues.
Staple Entertainment and director Takashi Naoya are working together again. Deko Akao is responsible for the series’ structure, while Saori Nakashiki is designing the characters. The music is being composed by Satoshi Hōno.
‘My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!’ (2025– )
The romantic comedy light novel by Ghost Mikawa and Tomari, featuring Akiteru, his best friend’s playful sister, and their complicated collaborations, will begin airing on October 5, 2025.
Information about the staff, trailers, and when the show will air was released throughout 2025. The voice actors were chosen from a well-known group already connected to the original material.
‘SI-VIS: The Sound of Heroes’ (2025– )
This new music and action series centers around SI-VIS, a group of idols whose concerts actually provide the energy needed to battle secret enemies. It will begin on October 5, 2025 and is scheduled to run for two seasons (cours).
The animation is done by Studio VOLN. Daisuke Yoshida directs, working with writer Fumiaki Maruto. The original character designs are by Hidari, and were adapted for animation by Nami Fujii. Shuhei Mutsuki composed the music. Details about the voice cast and additional staff members were announced in late summer.
‘The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest’ (2025– )
This adaptation of Alto and Yuunagi’s story follows a skilled mage who uses support magic. After being rejected, he embarks on a journey to demonstrate his power, premiering October 4, 2025.
The anime is produced by Studio Gekkou, with Ken Takahashi serving as the director and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition. Yōko Satō is responsible for the character designs, and the music is composed by Diosta and High Speed Boy.
‘Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider’ (2025– )
Yokusaru Shibata’s personal project, a story about an ordinary person who dreams of becoming a masked hero, will be released on October 5, 2025. The story pays tribute to the Kamen Rider franchise, and was created with the collaboration of Toei and Ishimori Productions.
Liden Films is responsible for the animation. Takahiro Ikezoe is directing, Tōko Machida is in charge of series composition, and TeddyLoid is composing the music. More staff details will be revealed before the series premieres.
‘Touring After the Apocalypse’ (2025– )
In October 2025, Sakae Saito’s heartwarming story of a journey through a peaceful, somewhat wild Japan will be adapted into a TV series. The show follows two young women as they travel the country on a motorbike, documenting their experiences through photography and journaling.
Nexus comes to life; details about the staff and overall theme were first revealed in the main trailer during our August promotional campaign.
‘Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!’ (2025– )
The funny story of Nanateru is coming to television on October 5, 2025, and it follows a small, energetic child who is determined to create the family she’s always dreamed of.
Studio Flad created the project, with Yasuhiro Minami as the director and Yukie Sugawara writing the scripts. Details about the main cast and music artists were first shared in early September.
‘Dad Is a Hero, Mom Is a Spirit, I’m a Reincarnator’ (2025– )
This heartwarming story about family and rebirth comes from Chirolu’s light novels. It follows Ellen, an eight-year-old girl who is also a scientist in a past life. She lives with her incredible parents: a famous hero and a powerful spirit queen. The story will begin airing on October 5, 2025.
The animation is produced by J.C.STAFF, with Toshinori Fukushima as the director. Tōko Machida is handling the series composition, and Mina Ōsawa designed the characters. The artists performing the theme songs were revealed around late summer.
‘Mechanical Marie’ (2025– )
The romantic comedy series ‘LaLa’ by Aki Akimoto, which centers on a robotic girl and the people in her life, will begin airing on October 5, 2025.
Junji Nishimura is the director for both Zero-G and Liber, working with scripts written by Mariko Kunisawa. Yōko Kikuchi handles character design, and the music is composed by a team of Yasuharu Takanashi and Johannes Nilsson.
‘My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s’ (2025– )
The isekai story by Matsuri Akai and Tōzai follows a group of classmates who are transported to a different world. In this new world, one of them, an assassin, is surprisingly more powerful than the supposed hero. The TV anime adaptation will premiere on October 7, 2025.
The show is being produced under TMS (planning) with animation handled by Sunrise (Bandai Namco Filmworks). Nobuyoshi Habara is directing, and Kunihiko Okada is in charge of the series’ composition. More information about the show’s themes will be shared through promotional materials released throughout the summer. Details will be revealed soon.
‘A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace’ (2025– )
Kuzushiro’s comedic story, following new shōjo manga artist Nana Futami and her understanding editor Kaede Satō, will begin on October 6, 2025. The show focuses on funny situations that happen at the manga studio, all with a heartwarming and relaxed feel.
Voil handles production, while Kaoru Suzuki directs. Mio Inoue is responsible for series composition, with character designs created by Kana Miyai. The music is composed by Kei Haneoka and Hironori Doi.
‘Plus-sized Misadventures in Love!’ (2025– )
Mamakari’s romantic comedy, which follows Yumeko Koda as she rebuilds her life after losing her memory-and now sees things with a more hopeful attitude-will debut on October 6, 2025.
The animation is brought to life by Marvy Jack, with Kazuomi Koga as the director and Aya Watatane handling the writing. Atsuko Takahashi is responsible for the character designs, and the music is composed by Satoshi Hōno and Kaori Nakano.
‘Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill’ (2023– )
Mukouda, Fel, Sui, and their delicious road-trip food are back as Season 2 starts on October 7, 2025. Get ready for new recipes and exciting places to explore!

‘The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess’ (2025– )
The new meta-isekai shōjo comedy by Akiharu Tōka-which features a writer who used to write dark stories being reborn as the villain in one of her own books-will begin airing on October 8, 2025.
The animation is handled by Studio DEEN, with Hiroaki Sakurai as the director. Mitsutaka Hirota is responsible for the series composition, Tomoyo Sawada designed the characters, and the music is composed by Ryūichi Takada.
‘GNOSIA’ (2025– )
The beloved single-player social deduction game, Petit Depotto, which features a time-looping mystery, is getting a TV anime adaptation starting on October 11, 2025. The series follows a crew caught in repeating time loops as they try to identify the Gnosia, a shapeshifting threat, hidden among them.
Domerica brings the animation to life. Kazuya Ichikawa directs, with Jukki Hanada handling series composition. Arisa Matsuura is responsible for the character designs, and Hideyuki Fukasawa composed the music. Further details about the art and sound teams were announced in March and September.
‘One-Punch Man’ (2015– )
The fight between Saitama and the Monster Association continues in Season 3, launching on October 5, 2025 (new episodes will start appearing in mid-October, following a brief recap of previous events). This season covers the later battles against the Monster Association as depicted in the manga.
The new season is being produced by J.C.STAFF, and more information about the team working on it became available through official announcements and industry news throughout 2025.
‘Li’l Miss Vampire Can’t Suck Right’ (2025– )
A new school comedy by Kyōsuke Nishiki, featuring a vampire struggling with everyday life, will premiere on October 12, 2025.
I have to say, this film has a real studio feel to it. Sayaka Yamai is in the director’s chair, and she’s working with a script from Yuniko Ayana. The character designs are by Takuya Tani, and the music, which I really enjoyed, comes from Tomoki Kikuya. It’s worth noting they shared a bunch of cast updates back in August, so keep an eye out for those!
