Adam Sandler has addressed a strange rumor going around online about him and his daughter, Sadie. A TikTok video claimed he spent $312,000 on shopping bags after a store worker supposedly told Sadie she wasn’t allowed to touch some items. Sandler says the story is totally made up and isn’t true.
The 59-year-old actor recently addressed a rumor circulating online while speaking with PEOPLE at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He described the rumor as ‘insane’ and said he’d heard about it and seen it himself.
He firmly stated the story was completely false. He told USA Today, “It was totally fabricated and not based on anything real.”
Adam Sandler, who has two daughters – Sadie, 19, and Sunny, 17 – with his wife Jackie, called a recent viral clip “one of the strangest, most ridiculous, and completely fabricated things” he’d ever seen. He said it was so odd that even his friends asked if it was true, showing how easily misinformation spreads online. He admitted he was baffled by how such a thing could happen.
Adam Sandler swiftly dismissed a false story circulating about him, but he did admit to another popular tale: a New York Post report that he once ordered a large number of Double-Doubles from In-N-Out Burger late at night. “I’ll confirm that one is true,” he said with a laugh. “But the other story is just ridiculous.”
The actor had a lovely day at the festival, marked by receiving the Maltin Modern Master Award, an honor recognizing significant contributions to film. In a touching acceptance speech, he warmly thanked his family, telling his wife, “Thank you for keeping me going all these years. I love you forever. I couldn’t do it without you.” He also shared his love for his daughters.
