Zach Cregger’s “Weapons” is now thrilling theatergoers with a chilling storyline about a class of children who mysteriously vanish all at once. Without revealing any plot twists, let me tell you that this movie is both funnier and more twisted than one might expect. Consequently, it comes as no shock that New Line Cinema is discussing the possibility of producing a prequel film for “Weapons”.
As reported by Deadline, the concept is still at a very rudimentary stage of creation. However, the idea of a prequel for Weapons seems plausible due to an intriguing character whose history could be delved into more deeply. It remains uncertain whether Cregger will participate in this project or not. Given his current creative success, it’s challenging to conceive that he wouldn’t contribute to the storyline development.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m absolutely buzzing about the upcoming Resident Evil reboot, and three years on, people are still raving about Barbarian. If a Weapons prequel film does materialize, we might have to wait a couple of years for it. But hey, we’re more than happy to bide our time for another serving of that darkly comedic horror goodness!
