Channel Your Inner Creativity at the LEGO® PLAY Pavilion in Serpentine London

In honor of this year’s World Play Day, the LEGO Group has revealed its newest exhibit at the Serpentine Gallery in London, featuring an engaging schedule of events throughout the entire summer.

Constructed by renowned British architect Sir Peter Cook, this innovative cultural hub is an open, inviting place where everyone can express their creativity and harness the energy of imagination. The lively, engaging design adds a splash of vivid color to the picturesque surroundings of Kensington Gardens.

Initiated following LEGO’s research revealing that one out of every three city children feel neglected by urban planning, this project aims to foster creativity, support London’s local communities, and provide a venue for young people to express themselves freely. Cook, the designer, shares his inspiration, stating, “Architecture should captivate, especially for the young. The Play Pavilion does exactly that, subtly rather than grandly, with intricate details and hidden discoveries throughout the space. Designed with young people in mind, it offers a place to hide, climb, perform or let your imagination soar without limits. It’s all about tapping into endless potential through play.

In addition to music carefully selected by NTS Radio, LEGO® has gathered its top builders along with key figures from various fields such as art, sports, fashion, and more for a series of interactive workshops that offer a diverse range of experiences.

Every gathering is designed to delve into the endless potential of the simple yet legendary LEGO® block. It could be about crafting abstract art, reinventing famous album covers, or offering visitors a close look at London’s vibrant creative scene, including workshops that peek into the creative methods of Martine Rose and Niko B, an educational session on ecology led by Flock Together through nature walks, and turning LEGO® into soundscapes for live beat making with Kepler and Iglooghost – the diverse programming celebrates the boundless might of creativity and play.

In other locations as well, LEGO® extends its long-term collaboration with Nike into the real world by materializing the iconic Swoosh symbol in brick structures. These interactive workshops blend football culture, street fashion, and creativity, creating a unique experience called “Brickswoosh.” The builders of these projects embody the shared values of both brands.

The LEGO Play Pavilion is currently open and will continue until August 10th. To find out more details and reserve a spot at the complimentary workshops, check out the official LEGO Group website immediately.
