Summary
- Warner Bros. releases a new, emotionally-driven trailer for F1® The Movie
- The film features authentic racing footage and a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer
- Starring Brad Pitt, the film premieres internationally on June 25
Following the unveiling of the F1® The Movie official teaser a month ago, Warner Bros. is further building excitement for the film by releasing a brand-new extended trailer. While the initial sneak peek was centered around dramatic clashes and pulse-pounding action in the high-tension Formula 1 racing environment, the new promotional material takes a more emotionally-charged approach.
The trailer opens showing Kate McKenna, head of APX GP (played by Kerry Condon), conversing with Sony Hayes (portrayed by Brad Pitt) in what seems like an interview setting. This initial scene sets up the storyline revolving around Hayes’ comeback to F1 racing after a long hiatus and the societal perception he faces during this transition.
A notable feature of the trailer is its genuine feel, captured by shooting scenes at real Formula 1 races over the last two years. The production team collaborated closely with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is not only a key player in the race but also one of the film’s producers, alongside Brad Pitt, Jerry Bruckheimer, Joseph Kosinski, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman.
The trailer showcased awe-inspiring views of Silverstone, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi, and Monza, seamlessly combining actual racing footage from these locations with captivating storytelling. Pitt, alongside his co-star Damson Idris (portraying Joshua Pearce, Hayes’ young teammate), were spotted next to real Formula One drivers during pre-race events, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the movie.
Making “F1® The Movie” was a team effort from an assortment of creative experts across various fields. Joseph Kosinski helmed the director’s chair, working with a script written by Ehren Kruger, who based his work on a story conceived by Kosinski and Kruger. Daniel Lupi takes on the role of executive producer for this venture. Of particular interest is Hans Zimmer, the renowned composer responsible for creating the movie’s soundtrack.
Check out the latest trailer for “F1® The Movie” above. The movie is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on June 25, and in North America on June 27. After its cinema release, you’ll also be able to stream it on Apple TV+.
