Ever since Trump compared himself to Batman, now he’s claiming to be Superman. So, could it be that Trump believes he’s the best of the best in the superhero universe?
James Gunn described his version of Superman as a movie with political themes, and now the White House is participating in a meme featuring Donald Trump as Superman, which has prompted a response from California governor Gavin Newsom regarding immigration.
Hey, guys, just like Nathan Fillion said, maybe it’s just a movie.
Trump Superman meme
Concerning the Trump meme, the official White House social media platforms shared a digitally altered Superman-style poster swapping President Donald Trump for David Corenswet. The artwork is labeled “A Trump Presidency” and includes the phrase “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
In the film, Superman’s merchandise didn’t include this, but instead of “The American Way,” it was altered to read “The Human Way.
The tweet from the White House adds, “The symbol of hope. Superman Trump.”

Gavin Newsom responds
Gavin Newsom’s press office replied on platform X by stating, ‘Superman is an example of an undocumented immigrant.’
In traditional tales, Superman arrives on Earth in Kansas, where he’s brought up by the Kents. Initially, the stories didn’t delve into how they managed to create documents or legally adopt Clark, ensuring he had an official identity. More recent adaptations might depict them creating false documents or navigating legal procedures to establish his records and integrate him into society.

Is James Gunn’s Superman woke?
In the movie “Superman,” directed by Gunn, political themes are indeed addressed, but it can’t be categorized as ‘woke.’ The characters, both male and female, exhibit strength, which is noteworthy. Although Gunn’s portrayal of Superman may appear weaker compared to previous versions, this seems more related to the narrative rather than a reflection of an underlying agenda. Superman still displays moments of superhuman prowess; however, in this installment, he faces adversaries that are equally or even more formidable than himself for the first time. Lois Lane, too, holds him in high regard, and their mutual respect is evident throughout the story.
In a nutshell, Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner and Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific are standout characters in the film that truly shine. Skyler Gisondo’s portrayal of Jimmy Olsen is particularly impressive and may very well be the best version we’ve ever witnessed. For more insights, read my review here.
