In just seven days following its release (up to April 26th), Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has climbed to the third-highest selling game of 2025 in the US, according to Piscatella’s latest statement on Bluesky. It is outperformed only by Monster Hunter: Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
It’s no wonder that it turned out to be the top-selling game of the week. After all, the highly anticipated JRPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 hit the market at the same time, which has been widely praised and sold swiftly.
In a recent post on Bluesky, Piscatella stated that Oblivion Remastered claimed the number one position on Steam US, in terms of weekly active users, during the week ending April 26. However, it ranked second in the same category for Steam Canada. On Xbox, it was placed fourth, and on PlayStation, it reached the 15th spot.
If we were discussing Elder Scrolls 6, this information would be so inconsequential that it wouldn’t even warrant a story from me. In other words, given its popularity, I wouldn’t find it noteworthy.
2006 was when this game originally launched. Surprisingly fast, a relatively improved version of it is skyrocketing its way up the annual list of top-selling games. This swift ascension speaks volumes about the enduring appeal and success of The Elder Scrolls series over time.
