‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Breaks Franchise Run-Time Record

With the approaching premiere date for “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” Paramount Pictures has disclosed that the running time for the Tom Cruise-starring action flick will be… This summer marks the conclusion of the Mission: Impossible franchise, which spans almost three decades and eight movies, with its climactic final film.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Paramount officially revealed to ComicBook that the upcoming movie will clock in at an impressive 2 hours and 49 minutes, setting a new franchise record for longest film. In comparison, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning comes in a close second with a runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes. Interestingly, the final film is being positioned as a standalone chapter, distinct from being the second half of Dead Reckoning.

In the upcoming movie “The Final Reckoning,” it’s anticipated that it will wrap up any lingering plot points from previous “Mission: Impossible” films. At age 60, Tom Cruise continues to perform his own death-defying stunts as Ethan Hunt, a role he’s been playing for almost 30 years now. Working with director Christopher McQuarrie, they are giving it their all in this final “Mission: Impossible” film, although it remains unclear if the franchise will carry on in any other form.

Mission: Impossible – The Last Stand is set to hit theaters on May 23, marking its global debut at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
