As a gamer, I’m hyped to share that after wrapping up our partnership with Levi’s for season four, Denim Tears is back and ready to unveil its fresh Big Cotton Wreath collection! Get ready for a series of comfy designs that feature oversized renditions of our signature motif, masterminded by the one and only Tremaine Emory. Let’s see these new styles in action!
The collection showcases Denim Tears’ iconic items – hoodies, sweatpants, and sweatshorts – reimagined with bold, oversized fits and patterns. These pieces are dyed in shades of black, grey, and purple, and each one proudly displays the brand’s symbol, the “Cotton Wreath,” which signifies the struggles of Black people in the cotton trade, both historically and in modern America. This is a part of Emory’s broader mission to narrate the stories of the African diaspora through fashion.
The campaign for this line features enlarged images of fashion enthusiast Sober Yung Walter, showcasing him striking poses at iconic New York City landmarks. In one picture, he stands proudly above the Chinatown entrance to the Manhattan Bridge with a Citi Bike; while in another, he’s casually leaning over the well-known Calvin Klein billboard on East Houston Street.
