Karma Automotive Unveils New Amaris 2-Door EREV Coupe

Karma Automotive has introduced their first-ever two-door coupe, called the Amaris, which represents the next phase in the development of its Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology. This vehicle is set to begin production in Q4 2026. The Amaris combines luxury, impressive performance, and efficiency, with its design influenced by Karma’s earlier Kaveya super-coupe model.

The Amaris boasts a design constructed with carbon fiber and aluminum, featuring 22-inch forged aluminum Constellation wheels, commonly known as “swan doors”, and a graceful Comet Line shaping its streamlined outline. A rear spoiler that aids aerodynamics and side exhaust inspired by American designs highlight its performance heritage. The signature clamshell hood and Target Lighting adorn its stylish front end.

The Amaris is equipped with Karma’s latest and strongest Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) system under its hood, combining a turbocharged four-cylinder internal combustion engine generator with electric motors. This setup is expected to propel the coupe from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of approximately 165 mph. Additionally, Karma announced that their Gyesera four-door, initially unveiled as an all-electric vehicle, will now incorporate an EREV system and is set to debut in late 2025, replacing the Revero model.

According to Karma President Marques McCammon, our new models Amaris and Gyesera will provide an electrifying driving experience with the added advantage of a longer driving range, similar to electric vehicles yet maintaining the freedom that comes from extended mileage.

Two models are being developed using a refined aluminum spaceframe structure, initially employed in the Revero, which helps Karma expedite its development process as it expands its luxury vehicle lineup. The high-performance, all-electric Kaveya sports car is set to debut in 2027, preceded by the Ivara GT-UV in 2028; pricing details for both models are still undisclosed at this point.
