Rhude FW25 Proposes a ‘Rhudeboy’ Renaissance

For the FW25 line, Rhude looks back to its origins by filling the collection with nods to its early years. Established in 2015 by designer Rhuigi Villaseñor who was born in Manila and raised in LA, this brand’s distinctive West Coast style is revitalized as it celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In keeping with the occasion, Villaseñor has chosen to label this collection “Rhudeboy,” symbolizing a revisit of the original essence of his brand.

The main fashion styles of this brand encompass varsity jackets, biker jeans, sophisticated tracksuits, and graphic jersey knits, all crafted from worn-out and faded leather, denim, and knit materials. Unique emblems are incorporated into fresh fabrics such as bandana paisley sherpa, used for a warm winter ensemble, and a jacquard sweater showcasing a streamlined depiction of the brand’s cigarette packaging motif. The brand defies subtle branding trends by emphasizing large logos on outerwear pieces, including an aviator jacket in aged leather that sports a bold word mark running along the zipper’s center.

If Rhude’s bold interpretations of luxury streetwear lost popularity during the “quiet luxury” trend in the early 2020s, it seems that the brand might be regaining its appeal now. Some of their designs, like a jacket with a fur hood and sagging biker jeans paired with Ugg-like boots, resemble Timothee Chalamet’s fashion during his promo tours for A Complete Unknown. Additionally, the same late 2000s/early 2010s vibe can be seen in Dsquared2’s FW25 show, which was one of the most talked-about events during that fashion season.
