BEAMS is officially launching its North American online store.
According to Nikkei Asia, the upcoming e-commerce platform for the Japanese brand will carry products from BEAMS as well as other brands. The local subsidiary, BEAMS America (a joint venture with Pacific Fashion Works), will manage this online store. The company aims to strengthen its presence in North America by launching this webstore, which could potentially pave the way for a permanent physical store in the United States.
Just a moment ago, I learned that the store under the brand’s name, BEAMS PLUS LIMITED, has wrapped up its short-term pop-up location in New York City. In the coming days, they are planning on reopening another temporary pop-up in Los Angeles.
In 1976, Etsuzo Shitara established BEAMS by opening a modest store that eventually grew into the well-known BEAMS HARAJUKU, which serves as the flagship for the menswear brand today. Now, BEAMS Co., Ltd privately owns the company, with Yo Shitara, son of the founder, serving both as owner and President. With approximately 150 stores in Japan and international locations sprinkled throughout Taipei, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Bangkok, BEAMS continues to expand its presence.
