Refreshing the partnership between OMEGA and Swatch, they’ve introduced a new version of their popular collaborative timepiece – the MoonSwatch 1965.
The MoonSwatch 1965 honors the historic NASA space flight certification of the famous OMEGA Speedmaster in the ’60s, a landmark event in both watchmaking and space exploration. This latest model maintains the distinctive features of its ancestor, such as the OMEGA emblem, hands, and iconic text, while its clean white dial references the Moonwatch Professional from 2024, offering a nostalgic feel with contemporary construction.
The MoonSwatch 1965 features reworked chronograph dials that display a total of 19 hours at 10 o’clock and 65 minutes at 2 o’clock, symbolically representing the year 1965. It also includes Grade A Super-LumiNova® coating for enhanced visibility in low light conditions.
Made from Swatch’s unique Bioceramic material, the new watch boasts a 42mm case in a subtle matte gray finish, contrasted by a bold black tachymeter bezel. The muted gray tone is also featured on the NASA-style strap and back of the case, both sporting Swatch’s co-branding and original mission statement, secured with VELCRO® fasteners.
Beginning March 1st, the MoonSwatch 1965, which shares its release date with when NASA endorsed the Speedmaster in the ’60s, will hit select stores worldwide. This model is a non-limited edition piece, priced at $270 USD. For information on participating stores, check out Swatch’s official website.
