Audi Expands Its Electric Lineup with High-Range Q4 40 e-tron

Audi is broadening its electric vehicle lineup by introducing the new Q4 40 e-tron, a cost-effective, high-range model that aims to make luxurious electric travel more affordable and convenient. This model features a 63 kWh battery and can travel up to 256 miles on a single charge, while its Sportback variant offers slightly better performance at 262 miles per charge.

This electric SUV showcases a rear-located continuously energized synchronous motor generating 150 kilowatts (or equivalent to 201 horsepower). It’s designed for quick acceleration, reaching speeds from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds, and boasting a top speed of 100 mph. The battery’s charging efficiency is impressive; it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes at DC fast-charging stations, which means about 93 miles of range can be added in merely ten minutes.

Audi boosts convenience by offering manual preconditioning of batteries via the MMI system, which streamlines charging speeds and dependability at every charging station. Furthermore, a proactive maintenance alert is available through the myAudi app, keeping drivers informed in real-time about critical service aspects such as brake pads, battery condition, and emergency gear.

Enhancing connectivity are the Audi app store and the incorporation of ChatGPT. The state-of-the-art voice-controlled system, fueled by Azure OpenAI and Cerence Inc.’s automotive technology, enables management over entertainment, navigation, and temperature controls.

Starting at a competitive entry price of $48,336, the Q4 40 e-tron comes equipped with premium standard features such as Audi MMI navigation plus, the Audi virtual cockpit, heated front seats, and an electric trunk lid. Both SUV and Sportback models are now available for customers to order.
