After a break of one year, Stefan Cooke made a triumphant comeback at London Fashion Week, demonstrating the superiority of slow fashion. Designers and co-founders Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt drew inspiration from self-editing and tailoring for their Fall/Winter 2025 collection titled “Altitude.

Instead of holding a conventional fashion show, the designers chose to organize a runway-style photoshoot in their studio’s garage located in East London. This intimate setting offers viewers an immediate connection with the clothing, as it minimizes the distractions of a busy London Fashion Week.

Drawing inspiration from within, the show notes liken this collection to a “journey across England,” symbolized by the use of locally-sourced wool, tweeds, and tartans. Notably, the vast majority of designs were conceived and manufactured locally, an impressive feat for a growing label that’s competing against established brands on a more limited scale.

Instead of using thrifted silk scarves on calico trousers and leather patches shaped like biscuit cutters on vintage jeans, the designs in this collection are thoughtfully crafted with a clear, sophisticated vision that breaks away from the youthful preppy style often associated with them. The accessories are inspired by the Stefan Cooke brand itself. One of their dogs, Ralph, is now featured on tasseled coin purses, which adds a charming and personal touch to each piece.

The term “Altitude” signals the brand’s re-entry into women’s fashion, following hints showcased in the fall of 2022. Splitting the designs evenly between male and female pieces, the women’s segment of this collection signifies a complete expansion for a new customer base. Among the eye-catching shapes, the opening look stands out – a dress with a drop waist that cleverly appears as separates, divided by a waistline featuring ruching and horizontal pockets.
