Mulliner, Bentley’s personal commission division, has unveiled an exceptional series of designs inspired by Chinese culture, showcasing luxury craftsmanship. Dubbed the “Inspired by China” collection, it features eight distinct bespoke creations that blend traditional motifs, symbolism, and artistic flair. This unique series is now available on Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB), Flying Spur, and Continental GT models, each model providing a one-of-a-kind canvas for these regionally exclusive designs.
Mulliner’s design team has carefully constructed every model with great attention to detail, making sure that it reflects cultural authenticity in even the tiniest aspects. Intricate details such as embroidered dragon claws, the orientation of swimming koi fish, and symbolic numerical representations have been carefully incorporated into the collection.
One exceptional design is the “Vibrant Koi Carp” Bentayga EWB, influenced by the esteemed fish representing bravery and wealth. This model showcases Mandarin orange highlights against a Beluga black interior, with six embellished and inlaid koi – six being a fortunate number in Chinese culture. Gold accents on the floor mats and exterior branding also underscore prosperity and affluence.
One notable feature is the “Flying Spur Azure” inspired by the renowned landscape painting “A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains” by Wang Ximeng during the Song Dynasty. This exclusive model’s custom blue interior and detailed embroidery reflect the painting’s winding rivers and majestic mountains, encapsulating the Taoist concept of living in harmony with nature.
In addition to the new Flying Spur, Bentley has unveiled the “Ru Yi” edition, inspired by the Ru Yi scepter – a symbol of wealth and good fortune. This model showcases intricate gold thread embroideries, silver embellishments on the front end, and chevron-patterned accents, mirroring the generous gifting customs during Chinese festivities.
This assortment extends to showcase depictions of dragons, lions that dance, and pandas at play, blending conventional colors and symbols with Bentley’s distinctive opulence. The “Inspired by China” line can be obtained via the Mulliner division upon inquiry.
