Netflix gives Mariah Carey fans a gift for NFL Christmas day broadcast

As a seasoned gamer and a die-hard Christmas music enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming NFL games on Netflix this holiday season! With Mariah Carey performing “All I Want for Christmas is You” during the pregame broadcast, it feels like the perfect blend of sports and holiday cheer.

It seems you’re anticipating the holiday season by planning to stream some Christmas channels, and there’s a good chance Mariah Carey’s music will be included in your playlist. To be honest, it’s likely that you’ve been doing this well before December, maybe even as early as November (or perhaps July). Despite not wanting a full-on Mariah Carey station, the possibility of tuning in to her Christmas tunes remains tempting.

Excitedly speaking as a gamer, here’s a bit of fantastic news for us! After unwrapping your gifts or watching others do so on Christmas morning, and if you’re planning to spend the rest of the day enjoying NFL games on Netflix, don’t worry about waiting long for more Carey tunes. The streaming platform has announced that the singer will be part of their gameday broadcast… in a way!

In simpler terms, Carey will be singing “All I Want for Christmas is You,” in a pre-recorded video, not in real-time on the NFL broadcast where she won’t provide analysis about Travis Kelce or the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers. However, it’s imaginable that if Taylor Swift is watching the game live, there could potentially be an unexpected collaboration between them and Carey during the performance.

Mariah Carey will be part of NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix

A music fan can dream.

Apart from Carey, there’s more musical excitement on Netflix both before and during the games. Notably, Beyoncé is set to perform at halftime for the second game of the day, which is between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Given that she hails from Houston, it’s likely she’ll show her support for the Texans in her performance.

While neither Netflix nor the NFL has officially revealed who could be the halftime act for the Kansas City Chiefs versus Pittsburgh Steelers match (fingers crossed it’s Taylor Swift supporting Kelce), it seems reasonable that there will be a performer. Mariah Carey is involved in the pregame broadcast, and Beyoncé is set for another game. Therefore, we need an artist to entertain at the Chiefs and Steelers game as well.

The hope here is that it is Slipknot. That would be unlikely, however.
