Quando Rondo says his beef with King Von could’ve been handled differently

As a gamer who has spent countless hours navigating the virtual world of Grand Theft Auto, I can’t help but draw parallels between Quando Rondo‘s real-life experiences and the fictional lives we control in these games. The violence, the power struggles, the regret – it’s all too familiar.

Lately, Quando Rondo had a chat with DJ Akademiks – it marks his initial sit-down conversation since allegations emerged about Lil Durk attempting to arrange his assassination.

This year on October 24th, I found myself in handcuffs, accused of commissioning a heinous crime – murder-for-hire. The authorities alleged that as a Chicago rapper, I enlisted a team linked to my OTF record label for the chilling purpose of taking out Rondo.

It appears that the attack on Rondo was a response to his friend Timothy Leeks shooting Chicago rapper King Von. In 2022, Rondo managed to survive an assassination attempt, but unfortunately, his cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson, who was with him in the car, did not make it.

In simpler terms, Rondo shared with DJ Akademiks that he believes the conflict between him and Von could have been managed in a non-violent manner, and he conveyed his remorse about the situation.

Rondo clarified the situation we’ve been discussing, saying it could have been managed more sensibly and potentially led to a song and several million dollars. He suggested that it could have been addressed in a professional manner, through music or in a powerful way. Unfortunately, he admitted that he wasn’t aware of the extent to which things were as they were.

Recently, it came to light that Rondo was taken into custody about a year ago, charged with collaborating to spread methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana alongside others. In August of this year, he admitted guilt for one charge of conspiring to hold and distribute marijuana. His sentencing is scheduled for December 12.

Rondo expressed remorse to the city of Savannah, as well as his family, friends, loved ones, and especially his daughters, for subjecting them to a difficult time. He apologized for any stress caused.
