‘I Run Everything By…’: Laura Dern Reveals Reese Witherspoon Is Her Go-To For All Things Personal And Professional

As someone who has spent countless hours watching the magic unfold on the silver screen, I am truly inspired by the heartwarming bond between Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon. Their friendship is a beacon of hope that shatters the stereotype that women in Hollywood can’t be friends.

True and cherished female friendships are the ultimate BAE—Before Anyone Else! This sentiment rings especially true when it involves two celebrated actresses who have smashed the myth that women in showbiz can’t be friends.

For Laura Dern, Reese Witherspoon is the person she often turns to. During a discussion at Hello Sunshine’s second Shine Away event in Los Angeles on October 5, the Academy Award winner was asked about how the connections she’s built over her career have influenced her choices.

She revealed that perhaps the most important person in her network is Witherspoon. Dern revealed that growing up around parents who were also actors (She’s the daughter of Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd) she learned about the importance of sisterhood and community building.

Following the occasion, both actresses posted brief glimpses of the event on their Instagram accounts as well. Take a look at them below.

Laura mentioned that, besides her parents, veteran actress Jane Fonda and a remarkable group of women were the ones who felt compelled to be both the storytellers and part of the narrative themselves. This group motivated her and many others during that period.

She was overjoyed to possess that lens and discover camaraderie on this platform, and essentially, she confessed, she constantly consults with Reese about everything – from work updates to personal anecdotes.” Additionally, she disclosed that Reese has always been her trusted advisor and sparring partner for advice and lively conversations.

Additionally, before Dern could carry on, Witherspoon – who shared the panel with Octavia Spencer – interjected to disclose that they had recently joined forces to work on a project that’s not primarily career-driven, only a few days prior.

The two women not only seek guidance and make joint decisions, but their bond has evolved into a stronger female friendship, and they’ve even set shared fashion aspirations. They often coordinate their styles when attending events and sport shirts adorned with each other’s images.

As I delve into the world of entertainment, I’m excited about the latest updates on Reese Witherspoon’s career. Known for her role as Madeline Mackenzie in Big Little Lies, a series that took a break in 2019 but is rumored to be back for a third season in 2025, she has developed a special connection. This bond was formed when we both starred together in the 2014 film Wild.

What do you think of the two actresses being the best of friends? tell us your thoughts!
