María Gabriela De Faría To Reportedly Star In Berkley Brady’s Thriller Romanticizing Monsters Post Her Superman Role

As a devoted fan of María Gabriela De Faría’s acting career, I am thrilled to hear about her latest role in Romanticizing Monsters, a chilling new film based on serial killers. Her versatility as an actress is truly astounding, and she continues to surprise us with each new project.

María Gabriela De Faría, known for her role as a villain in the upcoming Superman film helmed by James Gunn, has been announced as the lead in a new movie titled “Romanticizing Monsters.” This film, which focuses on serial killers, was first reported by Deadline. Here’s what we currently know about the project.

Based on Deadline’s report, Amelia Velez, portrayed by De Faría, takes the lead role in the film. As a tenacious true crime podcast host and journalist, she delves into a string of missing person cases that authorities dismiss as unrelated. However, her suspicion points to a serial killer at large. The movie, helmed by Berkley Brady from Dark Nature, is set to be exhibited at the Frontières International Co-Productions Market during the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: The production process for this project is ongoing, and a definite start date has yet to be announced. According to recent reports, Justin Kelly and Katisha Shaw are serving as producers, while Nicole Hilliard-Forde and Matthew Lessall are in charge of casting.

In the movie “Superman,” De Faría was chosen to portray the antagonist Angela Spica, also called The Engineer. This character possesses powers linked to technology and has a mechanized appearance. During initial filming in Atlanta, fans had a sneak peek of her character. Prior to her part in “Superman,” De Faria was recognized for her role in Lionsgate’s horror film titled “The Exorcism of God,” which deals with supernatural themes.

The Duel, a comedy coming out on July 31 from Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment, will feature her as well. Previously, she made appearances on Animal Control and Deadly Class for television.

In February late in the calendar, production started for “Superman,” a new addition to the DC Universe lineup. This movie marks the initial significant endeavor under the banner of DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, following disruptions from industry-wide strikes in Hollywood.

David Corenswet takes over the role of Superman from Henry Cavill in this upcoming movie. Joining him are prominent actors such as Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. The film is set to premiere in cinemas on July 11, 2025.

Berkley Brady, who previously worked on Dark Nature and Creepypasta for Screambox, directs Romanticizing Monsters. De Faría is represented by Buchwald, and Brady by Great North Artists Management.
