As a dedicated follower of anime and a fan of Kengan Ashura since its premiere in 2019, I have eagerly anticipated each new development in this thrilling series. The recent release of the trailer for season 2B on Netflix has me buzzing with excitement!
Starting in 2019, Netflix teamed up with Larx Entertainment to introduce Kengan Ashura, an animated series about fighting corporations, where fighters decide which businesses get acquired or merged. Fans can look forward to the second season’s second half beginning August 15th; Netflix has dropped a new trailer and poster to build excitement.
Kengan Ashura Season 2B release date and what to expect
I was thrilled when Kengan Ashura made its comeback in the exciting crossover event on Netflix, titled “Baki Hanma Vs. Kengan Ashura.” In this 2-D animated spectacular, Ohma Tokita represented our beloved Ashura universe. The special brought together the strongest brawlers from each universe, leaving fans on the edge of their seats as we waited to see who would emerge victorious.
The anime’s official account on X posted a fresh promotional video for Kengan Ashura season 2 part 2, scheduled to premiere on Netflix starting August 15, 2024. In this trailer, HEY-SMITH, a renowned Japanese music group, unveiled their new soundtrack titled “Feel My Pain,” which will also be the opening theme for the upcoming season. The second part of Kengan Ashura is anticipated to cover the concluding stages of the Kengan Tournament, promising thrilling fights that lead to its epic finale.
The second season of Kengan Ashura wasn’t given the green light until September 2023, featuring twelve episodes. The second half of season 2 is slated to premiere around a year after that, concluding the manga’s storyline up to the tournament’s end. It’s anticipated that this will be the final season for Kengan Ashura, with no confirmed date yet for any future installments.
Kengan Ashura supporters have voiced worries over the animation in the initial series, specifically the implementation of CGI. The second season’s first half has demonstrated noticeable enhancements in uniformity and visual appeal. A sneak peek of what’s to come in the upcoming episode is showcased in the new trailer, hinting at potential advancements beyond part 1. As the concluding chapter, the final season will be filled with eagerly awaited battles. To prepare, fans are encouraged to rewatch or catch up on the Kengan Tournament before it premieres in the near future.
The story of Kengan Ashura
During the Edo era in Japan, arenas for gladiator battles were prevalent worldwide. In these arenas, affluent entrepreneurs and traders hired combatants for unarmed duels, the victor claiming all the rewards, known as Kengan bouts. One ordinary workday for Nogi Group’s Yamashita Kazuo took an extraordinary turn when he chanced upon a fierce fight between two enigmatic warriors in a secluded alleyway.
One of the fighters, Tokita “Ashura” Ohma is scouted out by the Nogi Group CEO, Nogi Hideki, due to defeating their previous fighter in the street fight. Kazuo is roped into managing Ohma who joins these arenas only to devastate his opponents. His spectacular ability to crush his enemies catches the attention of big business owners, leading to his inclusion in the Kengan Annihilation Tournament under the invitation of Hideki.
As an obsessed fan, I’d put it like this: I can barely contain my excitement for this tournament organized by Japan’s most powerful CEOs! The grand prize? None other than the coveted chairmanship of the esteemed Kengan Association. Wow, imagine the power and prestige that comes with that title!
