‘The Man, The Myth, The Legend’: Daisy Edgar-Jones Lauds Twisters Co-star Glen Powell And His Dog Brisket

As a dedicated fan of both Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell, I can’t help but be utterly captivated by their heartwarming bond, not just with each other, but also with Powell’s beloved pet dog, Brisket.

Daisy Edgar-Jones has become accustomed to her co-star Glen Powell’s rising popularity. The two of them appear together in the recently released movie “Twisters,” a modern take on storm chasing which debuted on July 19, 2024. Before the premiere, Edgar-Jones and Powell shared some honest insights about filming “Twisters.” Their experience was made even more memorable by Powell’s faithful canine companion, Brisket.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share how touched I was when Edgar-Jones spoke so fondly of her co-star, Brisket. He brought comfort and positivity to all of us on the Twisters set. In fact, I proposed we consider renaming our production after this beloved canine companion.

Daisy Edgar-Jones sings praises for Glen Powell and his dog

At a recent promotional event for “Twisters,” the 26-year-old actor praised her costar Glen Powell, who is 35, calling him “the man, the myth, the legend” due to his rising popularity. She declared excitedly, “This is going to be a Glen Powell summer!”

As a dedicated film enthusiast and animal lover, I cannot help but be touched by Daisy Edgar-Jones’ heartfelt appreciation for Brisket, the adorable terrier-poodle who graced the sets of Twisters with his presence. Having spent countless hours on movie sets myself, I can only imagine the joy and comfort Brisket brought to the cast and crew, especially during long and exhausting night shoots.

Although we’ve discussed Powell’s charisma in Hollywood, the Normal People actor gave credit to Brisket for bringing “joy, fun, and a touch of cuteness,” but the dog isn’t solely responsible for his appealing personality.

The pawprinted celebrity has joined his famous father at numerous red carpets and film premieres, becoming an cherished addition and essential element of the Twister family. Jones even suggested jokingly that the movie be titled “Bristers” due to his prominent role.

Led by director Lee Isaac Chung, the movie “Twisters” tells the story of storm chasers Tyler Owens and Kate Cooper as they bravely put their lives on the line to test a groundbreaking storm-tracking system in Oklahoma. Along the way, they encounter numerous perilous obstacles. A remake of the 1996 film with the same title, “Twisters” aims to reinvigorate the genre focused on natural disasters.

When did Glen Powell adopt his pet dog Brisket?

During the shooting of “Twisters,” the actor known for “The Hit Man” brought home Brisket, a mix breed pup of terrier and poodle. He had saved him as a little puppy from the Los Angeles-based animal rescue group, Labelle Foundation. In July 2023, Teen Vogue reported the news of this new family member.

In an interview with Hoda Kotb, Powell shared that he unexpectedly became a dog owner during a breakup. He explained, “I was in Enid, Oklahoma, and while I was sitting in a café there, I felt the strong urge to adopt a dog. I almost named him Brisket after the town, but he’s turned out to be an incredible source of comfort and joy in my life.”

Powell didn’t expect Brisket, his puppy, to become such an essential part of Twisters productions. To avoid leaving his pet at home, he started bringing him to set instead. This unexpected move brought joy to the entire crew.

The actor pointed out an intriguing connection between Twisters and Brisket in the movie, with the animal ultimately serving as an unsanctioned symbol and mascot for the production.

In more detail, Powell described how Brisket brought immense happiness to everyone at Twisters. Team members from various departments spent quality time with him, cuddling and forming connections. Edgar-Jones was even present when Brisket brought about significant changes in Powell’s life following his adoption.

Twisters is now out in theatres.
