Capcom has announced the details for the last big update to Monster Hunter Wilds, featuring difficult new hunts, unique rewards, limited-time quests, and a celebration of the game’s anniversary. Although Monster Hunter Wilds performed well commercially, it didn’t reach the same level of popularity as Monster Hunter World. The game also faced some technical problems, particularly for players on PC, despite still achieving respectable sales figures.
Despite initial criticisms, Capcom kept improving the game, listening to player feedback and adding more content, particularly for those wanting harder challenges. Almost a year after release, Capcom is nearing the end of major updates, but it seems the upcoming patch will finally resolve the biggest remaining problem, similar to what they’re doing with Monster Hunter Wilds. While it took some time, they appear to be on track.
Monster Hunter Wilds February 2026 Update Details
- Release Date: February 18, 2026
Hey everyone, so Capcom just dropped a new video with Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto talking about the big update coming to Monster Hunter Wilds on February 18th. It’s the last major update, and it looks awesome! We’re getting a super tough battle against an Arch-tempered Arkveld – that’s the monster on the cover of Wilds. You’ll need to be at least Hunter Rank 100 to take it on, since it’s a 10-star quest. Of course, if we beat it, we can craft some really cool new armor sets, including some for our feline companions, once we gather all the materials.

Successfully defeating these monsters will earn players Timeworn Charms and significantly increase their chances of finding rare talismans. A challenging optional quest, “Proof of a Hero,” will also be available, tasking hunters with defeating all four Arch-tempered monsters within a 50-minute time limit.

You can earn both items through a new event quest. Additionally, Support Hunter Nadia will feature in a special co-op mission where you’ll battle colorful, blob-like creatures.
In the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, players can participate in a collaboration with Wilds through a special side quest. You’ll help Rudy, a Royal Palico, rescue eggs, and as a reward, you can earn a Rudy costume for your Palico and special pendants themed after Monsties.

Capcom discovered through player data that Rompopolo is the least-hunted monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. To address this, they’ve created a limited-time quest featuring a special Rompopolo with unique rewards. Additionally, a new limited-time event will start at the end of February, offering players stunning Gala suits and Felyne Star armor sets, according to Ryozo Tsujimoto.
Image via Capcom This update marks the one-year anniversary of Monster Hunter Wilds. To celebrate, players can participate in a special in-game event over the next month, receiving a free Hunter Appreciation item pack. All past seasonal events will return on a weekly rotation, giving players another chance to earn their rewards. The Monster Hunter Wilds Grand Hub will also be updated to match the current event, including special, limited-time food items.
Alongside the February news, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto confirmed that a new expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds is in the works, and Capcom plans to fully reveal it this summer. Given past Monster Hunter announcements, the reveal will likely happen at Summer Games Fest, potentially with a major trailer during Geoff Keighley’s showcase. While details are still scarce, Tsujimoto described the expansion as “large-scale,” comparable in size to the Iceborne and Sunbreak expansions from previous games. Fans can anticipate learning more in the coming months.
