Camila Mendes has long been a fashion favorite, but her recent style choices signal a move towards a more polished and grown-up aesthetic. At the February 5th preview of her new film, Idiotka, she made a striking impression.
Mendes’ outfit perfectly blended 90s simplicity with high-fashion flair. She wore a Chanel look inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring/Summer 1992 collection at the Crown Hill Theater, referencing a classic moment in fashion history.
The outfit centered around a simple white tank top with the iconic black Chanel logo, demonstrating how even basic pieces can feel luxurious. She wore it with a full, flowing black tulle skirt that had a fitted, corset-style waist, creating a beautifully shaped look. A delicate gold chain belt with a jewel detail added a vintage touch, and the ensemble was completed with classic pearl earrings and natural-looking brown makeup.

Everyone was talking about her hair! She showed off a stylish, short side-swept look that felt like a fresh take on classic Hollywood glamour. It was the perfect look for the event, which brought together a fashionable New York crowd to celebrate the upcoming release of their new film.
Mendes was there with the film’s director, Nastasya Popov, and her co-star, Anna Baryshnikov. The three of them posed for photos that quickly spread all over social media. The film, Idiotka, is a funny and clever comedy that pokes fun at the often ridiculous worlds of reality TV and high fashion.
The story centers around Margarita, a struggling fashion designer played by Baryshnikov, who enters a reality competition called Slay, Serve, Survive to try and save her grandmother’s home. Mendes plays Nicol, a producer who is determined to exploit Margarita’s personal struggles for ratings.
Camila Mendes is quickly becoming a major force in Hollywood, now that she’s finished with her role on Riverdale. She stars in the upcoming film Idiotka, which hits theaters on February 27th, and has several other exciting projects in the works. This week, filming began in London for Guy Ritchie’s new movie, Viva La Madness, where she’ll appear alongside Jason Statham, Jason Isaacs, and Vinnie Jones. Plus, fans are looking forward to seeing her play Teela in the live-action Masters of the Universe film, scheduled for release on June 5th.
