Vin Diesel recently posted a touching message about his friend Michael Caine, which worried many of his followers.
The actor from The Fast and the Furious shared a post on Instagram celebrating his long friendship with a famous British actor, but some people at first thought it was announcing the actor’s death.
In his message, Diesel talked about their close relationship, saying it felt more like a family connection than just a friendship.
It was really special seeing Sir Michael Caine receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Red Sea International Film Festival – and even more amazing to be the one presenting it to him! He had his wife, daughters, and all three of his grandchildren there, which was beautiful. Vin Diesel shared a post about it, and he hinted at a lot of behind-the-scenes moments and a deeper connection that the audience didn’t get to witness. It felt like there was a whole story beyond just the award ceremony itself.

Diesel explained that he and his friend became close when Diesel was at the height of his career but finding it difficult to cope with the pressures of fame. He shared, “When we first met, I was overwhelmed by the fame I hadn’t learned to handle. You showed me how to be graceful, how to be strong, and how to confidently be myself.”
He remembered how Vin Diesel helped him cope after the devastating loss of his Fast & Furious co-star, Paul Walker, in 2013. He shared, “Twelve years ago, I lost someone the world wasn’t ready to lose. You were there for me—not just with words, but by taking action. You gave me the opportunity to play Kaulder. At a time when I was struggling with loss, you offered me a role that felt like a new beginning. The Last Witch Hunter wasn’t just a movie; it helped me heal and move forward.”
Vin Diesel shared a touching story about how Denzel Washington’s family embraced him. He recalled noticing that Denzel’s home was filled with family photos, emphasizing the importance of family over fame. Diesel was particularly moved when Denzel introduced him as his son in a room full of famous people, calling it a very powerful experience.
He ended his message by looking back on everything they’d accomplished together. “We both started with nothing, just two people with big dreams who managed to achieve something amazing,” Diesel wrote. “People say I connect with the world, but Michael… you connect with something beyond it. I love you, always.”
