To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Fathom Entertainment and Warner Bros. are re-releasing Peter Jackson’s complete Lord of the Rings trilogy in movie theaters.
Fathom and Warner Bros. announced that the extended versions of all three movies will play in DBOX theaters from January 16th to 19th, and then in standard theaters from January 23rd to 25th.
To celebrate the anniversary, moviegoers can enjoy special snacks themed around The Lord of the Rings. AMC Theatres will sell popcorn buckets decorated with maps of Middle-earth, and Regal and other cinemas will offer buckets shaped like the One Ring. A new logo and trailer for the trilogy have also been released.
It’s been 25 years since the first Lord of the Rings movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, hit theaters! To celebrate, all three extended edition films will be back in cinemas nationwide this January. Get your tickets now!

The extended versions of the film are longer than the versions originally shown in theaters, which together have a runtime of a little over nine hours.
The longer cuts of the films add up to roughly 11.5 hours, offering viewers a more in-depth look at the story. These versions became available on DVD and Blu-ray about a year after their original theatrical release.
I was so excited when Fathom and Warner Bros. brought the extended editions of the movies back to theaters earlier this year! They looked amazing with the new 4K Ultra remastering, and it was incredible to experience them on the big screen again.
