Today, Netflix announced it has acquired Warner Bros. in a mass email sent to its subscribers, following a successful bid for the company.
This message explains the current situation, what will stay the same for now, and the potential benefits of merging the libraries.

Netflix Confirms the Deal and Teases the Combined Franchises
As a Netflix fan, I’m so excited about them bringing Warner Bros.’ amazing content onto the platform! Think about it – now we’ll have everything from classics like Harry Potter, Friends, Casablanca, and even huge series like Game of Thrones and all the DC movies, right alongside Netflix hits like Stranger Things, Wednesday, Squid Game, Bridgerton, and even fun shows like K-Pop Demon Hunters. It’s a game changer!
I’m really excited about this deal because it’s being presented as a way to bring together some amazing, well-loved stories, and it means Netflix is going to have even more great content – not just movies and shows, but also games and live events. It feels like a big step for them!
What Netflix Says Happens Now
Netflix says that, for now, everything will stay the same. Both Netflix and HBO Max will keep running as they do now while the merger goes through the necessary legal and financial approvals. They’ll let users know as soon as the deal is finalized.
The message also confirms that current memberships aren’t changing right away, meaning there will be no immediate price increases or platform updates.
Netflix Tries to Calm Subscriber Concerns
This email anticipates that you may have questions and directs you to the Help Center for assistance. The company also assures users they’re dedicated to providing even more content in various formats, aiming to maintain a stable experience during a period of significant change in the entertainment industry.
