Wild Avengers: Doomsday Rumors Include Multiple Versions of Trailer

Just like I predicted, rumors about Avengers: Doomsday are spreading rapidly. This happened after a recent discussion on the Film Threat YouTube channel, where the hosts revealed what they believe is one of Marvel’s most surprising marketing plans yet.

Rumors suggest Marvel has made three distinct trailers for Avengers: Doomsday. They reportedly plan to release one each week in cinemas, beginning with showings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, which comes out this month.

Yep, that means you have to pay to go see Avatar numerous times.

If the reports are accurate, this would be one of Marvel’s boldest moves yet to regain audience excitement after some recent box office disappointments.

Rumor: Three Trailers That Connect Together

During the show, a host said they were told by someone in marketing that Marvel is planning to release three trailers. These trailers will each have different content, but when watched together, they’ll create a complete picture.

As a huge movie fan, I heard they’re planning to release this in stages over three weeks, and it’s really cool – each week’s release will be shown alongside screenings of the new Avatar movie, Fire and Ash. It’s a smart way to get the word out, and I’m excited to see it with that film!

The rumor suggests a plan to get movie fans back to cinemas repeatedly, which could increase ticket sales for James Cameron’s films and also provide a significant marketing opportunity for Marvel.

The hosts think Disney wants the next Avengers movie to be a huge, can’t-miss event, especially since other Marvel films haven’t done as well recently.

The report reiterates previous rumors: we should expect to see Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom revealed in the near future, possibly with a series of trailers.

Rumor: Four Teams Assembled for Doomsday

The discussion also brought up previously leaked photos revealing the teams that will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. These images, taken during a presentation in Italy, showed four different groups involved in the film.

  • Fantastic Four
  • Thunderbolts
  • X-Men
  • Captain America’s team, reportedly led on paper by Thor, Ant-Man, Loki, Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Falcon, and Shang-Chi

The list of actors involved keeps getting longer, and there are hints that even more unconfirmed characters will be revealed later as surprises. The show’s hosts mentioned the well-known “chair video,” implying that almost everyone who appeared in it will play a role in the upcoming season.

Why Marvel Might Try a Multi-Trailer Event

For years, Marvel movies have conditioned viewers to stay after the credits for extra scenes, jokes, and hidden surprises.

Honestly, I think it’s totally doable to build an event around releasing trailers, especially for something like the MCU. They could really use a shot in the arm right now, and a big trailer event could be just the thing.

Adding a fresh trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash to showings each week would encourage theaters to actively promote both it and the current film.

Disney is really pushing for Avengers: Doomsday to earn over $1 billion, which is how much money the movie needs to make to avoid losing money. They might try a special marketing campaign featuring The Avengers to get fans excited again.

You can see Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters starting Friday, December 19, 2025, but there will be early showings on Thursday, December 18th.
