HBO has announced that the first episode of It: Welcome to Derry will be released on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 6 PM Pacific Time / 9 PM Eastern Time. The horror series, which is a prequel to the It movies based on Stephen King’s novel, will be available to stream online on HBO Max at the same time it airs on TV.
The new series, “It: Welcome to Derry,” tells the story of how Pennywise the Dancing Clown first appeared and uncovers the sinister past of the town of Derry in 1962. It explains how the events in the original “It” movies fit into a bigger picture and focuses on the experiences of Mike Hanlon’s grandfather, showing that the evil in Derry existed long before the Losers Club was formed.

The film features a talented cast including Taylour Paige, known for her role in ‘The Toxic Avenger,’ James Remar from ‘Dexter,’ Jovan Adepo of ‘Babylon,’ Rudy Mancuso from ‘Música,’ Chris Chalk (‘Perry Mason’), Stephen Rider (‘What Lies Under the Tree’), and Madeleine Stowe, who starred in ‘The Last of the Mohicans’.
