Okay, so I’m getting word from Ross Duffer, one of the masterminds behind Stranger Things, about the length of the episodes in the final season. It’s something fans have been asking about, and he’s finally giving us a little insight – which is great news, because we all want to know how much more time we’ll be spending in Hawkins!
There were rumors for a while that each episode of Season 5 would be feature-length. Now, Matt Duffer has confirmed the actual lengths of the first four episodes in a video he shared on Instagram.
Duffer has revealed the runtimes for the first four episodes. “The Crawl” will be one hour and eight minutes long, followed by “The Vanishing of _____”, which is 54 minutes. “The Turnbow Trap” runs for one hour and six minutes, and the longest of the four, “Sorcerer”, will be one hour and twenty-three minutes.
- Episode 1 – 1 hour & 8 minutes
- Episode 2 – 54 minutes
- Episode 3 – 1 hour & 6 minutes
- Episode 4 – 1 hour & 23 minutes
He also shared some hints about the upcoming season. Duffer called the first episode, The Crawl, his “favorite” and said it has more action than any first episode since the first season. He also mentioned that the second episode starts with a particularly exciting and impressive opening sequence – one the team is especially proud of.
Duffer described the episode *The Turnbow Trap* as the most quintessential *Stranger Things* episode of the season, and shared that director Frank Darabont returned from retirement to helm it. He called episode four, *Sorcerer*, incredibly large in scale—comparable to any season finale—and the most challenging episode to film they’ve ever undertaken.

The fifth and final season of *Stranger Things* will have eight episodes, released on Netflix in three parts. Volume 1 will be available November 26th, Volume 2 on December 25th, and the series finale on December 31st. The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen are returning to produce the show.
Okay, good news for fans! Pretty much everyone you love from the show is coming back for another season – Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn, Gaten, Caleb, Noah, Sadie, Natalia, Charlie, Joe, Maya, Priah, Brett, and Jamie are all confirmed to return. Plus, Amybeth McNulty, who had a smaller role last season, is now a series regular, which is exciting. And get this – Linda Hamilton, yes *the* Linda Hamilton from *Terminator*, is joining the cast! That’s a huge addition and I’m really intrigued to see what she brings to the table.
It’s fall 1987, and the group is back in Hawkins a year after the events of the previous season. They’re determined to defeat Vecna after he opened gateways across the town. Things get even harder when the military arrives and begins pursuing Eleven. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance nears, the team prepares for a final, life-or-death battle that will determine the future of Hawkins.
Season 5 of *Stranger Things* will conclude the popular Netflix series, and viewers are excited to see how the story ends. The creators, the Duffer brothers, have said this final season will be their biggest and most elaborate one yet.
