Battlefield 6 launches with big numbers and little outrage, but map sizes remain a sore point

Unlike some recent Battlefield games, Battlefield 6 has launched relatively smoothly, avoiding major controversies or widespread negative feedback. While some players experienced issues with the EA App, the developers quickly addressed the problems and offered compensation, preventing the situation from escalating.

SteamDB shows the game has a 75% positive rating based on over 62,000 user reviews. It also hit a peak of over 747,000 players at the same time over the weekend, making it the most popular game in the series ever on Steam.

Even with the recent BF6 release, players still have concerns. Common feedback includes requests for bug fixes, improvements to the menus, and, most importantly, larger maps in future updates.

Players mentioned the maps felt cramped during the open beta, and EA responded by promising bigger battlegrounds in the full game. However, the final version didn’t deliver maps as large as players expected.

Players have noted that the maps in the new Battlefield game feel repetitive, both in how they look and how they play. They also think the maps are too small, giving infantry an unfair advantage over vehicles. EA will likely need to fix these issues quickly, and updates planned for Season 1 might offer a solution.

Despite the challenges, Battlefield 6 launched successfully, earning high marks for its gameplay and performance. Now, DICE and EA need to focus on maintaining that positive momentum with continued effort.
