The new trailer excited fans with a couple of unexpected appearances. Jessica Jones is back, returning from the popular Netflix series, and she’s joined by Foggy Nelson.
Matt Murdock and Karen Page have a sweet moment together. Meanwhile, Matthew Lillard joins the show as the new bad guy, Mr. Charles. We also see Kingpin both boxing and overseeing a secret prison, and Bullseye shows up in a funny scene, casually drinking a milkshake.
The first season of *Daredevil: Born Again* premiered earlier this year, and it features many of the actors from the original Netflix series.
Season one centered on Matt Murdock’s battle with Kingpin, who had recently been elected mayor of New York City. His friends, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, were by his side. The season took a dark turn when Bullseye killed Foggy, causing Matt to fall into despair and abandon his Daredevil identity.
The second season will continue Jessica Jones’ story, bringing back favorite characters and introducing new ones. Krysten Ritter reprises her role as Jessica Jones, and Matthew Lillard is joining the cast. Margarita Levieva, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, and Ayelet Zurer are also returning. Jon Bernthal will be back as the Punisher in a special TV appearance and will also appear in next summer’s *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*.
Marvel’s recent announcement at NYCC shows they’re continuing to emphasize grounded, relatable heroes in their movies and TV shows. Season 2 will bring back popular characters and introduce fresh faces, promising plenty of excitement, compelling stories, and unexpected twists.
