ZZZ 2.3 release time, preload, and server maintenance details

I’m so excited! Zenless Zone Zero is getting a big update this week with version 2.3! They’re adding more characters to Spook Shack and giving us more Rupture Agents to play as, which is awesome. It’ll be great to have more team members because poor Yixuan really needed some backup!

The game is adding three new playable characters: Lucia and Yidhari, both ranked S, and A-Rank agent Komano Manato. Players can unlock a new outfit for Manato by completing the latest chapter of the Main Story. Plus, Vivian is getting a swimsuit outfit to join the beach-themed fun with Phaethon.

The team is planning another update to improve Soldier 0 – Anby, an existing character, making her more effective in combat.

The Zenless Zone Zero servers will be unavailable starting October 15, 2025, at 6:00 AM (UTC+8) while we prepare for update 2.3. Here’s how that time translates to your local timezone:

Hey everyone, just a heads-up that the ZZZ server will be down for about five hours. But the good news is, once it’s back up, we can all dive straight into the new content! I’m already getting hyped!

ZZZ 2.3 – release time

Okay, so HoYoverse is usually pretty good with updates, rarely taking the full five hours they plan for. That means, barring any unexpected issues, here’s when I expect the 2.3 update to be live for me, depending on where I am in the world:

We’re giving you 60 Polychromes for every hour the server was down, meaning you’ll get at least 300 Polychromes as an apology for the trouble. You might receive even more if the maintenance took longer than expected or if we fixed issues from the previous version. Be sure to check your inbox and collect your Polychromes before Version 2.3 ends, because they will disappear afterwards.

I’m so excited! The update 2.3 files for Zenless Zone Zero are now available to download on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even mobile – iOS and Android! It’s awesome because we can download everything beforehand, so when the update actually drops, we won’t have to wait as long to jump back into the game. Seriously, it’ll save us a ton of time!

ZZZ 2.3 – download size

Update sizes for HoYoverse games differ based on your device, installed languages, and how much of the game you’ve already experienced. Here’s a general idea of how large the preload file will be for ZZZ version 2.3:

PC: 7 to 8 GB
Mobile: 3 to 4 GB
PS5: 13 to 14 GB
Xbox: 21 to 22 GB

Just a heads-up – make sure you have a little extra space on your hard drive beyond what the game says it needs. When it’s updating, it temporarily needs some room to unpack all the files before actually installing everything. Trust me, you don’t want it to run out of space mid-update!
