Hades 2: How to find the Three Fates

A key problem that surfaces during the main story of Hades 2 is that Chronos has taken the Three Fates hostage. While you might expect to rescue them after finishing the Dissolution of Time, that isn’t how it works. Chronos has banished them, but he doesn’t know where he sent them – if he did, the Fates could have used that information to escape on their own. Therefore, it falls to Melione to locate them, becoming a central objective in the Hades 2 post-game content.

Okay, so this quest is a bit tricky – it’s all about figuring out some riddles! I’m going to walk you through everything you need to do, step by step, to save the Three Fates. It’s a little involved, but don’t worry, I’ll make sure you understand it all. Need help? Just let me know!

Melione, Help Us – Hades 2

This marks the beginning of your journey, triggered by the discovery that Chronos has captured the Three Fates. Currently, there’s nothing you can do to alter the situation, but this prophecy will shift once Chronos is defeated. Continue to the next step.

Melione, Remember Us – Hades 2

Once you’ve finished the main story and watched the credits, the Three Fates will update their message. They’ll acknowledge your win, but let you know there’s still work to be done – they still need to be located. Your next objective is to “investigate the Underworld and the Olympus”. To achieve this, complete a full playthrough going in either direction, then speak with Moros, and the prophecy will change again.

Melione, Seek Us – Hades 2

In this activity, you’ll be learning about six different characters, although their names aren’t directly stated. Below is a list of riddles, along with the characters each one describes:

  • Seek to know he who is our emissary: Moros
  • Seek to know they who created the world: Chaos
  • Seek to know he who cast us: Chronos
  • Seek to know she who trained you: Hecate
  • Seek to know he who rebels against the gods: Prometheus
  • Seek to know he who labors for the gods: Heracles

Generally, strengthening your relationships with characters through giving them Nectar is key, but the amount needed differs for each one. For instance, we completed Chaos’s requirements with only four hearts, whereas we had to reach the maximum bond level with Moros before his quest was finished.

The only exception is Prometheus, who cannot form a bond with the player because he only appears as a boss on Mount Olympus. Instead, after a varying number of encounters-the exact amount is random and depends on which other story dialogues take precedence-he will mention the Three Fates, thus satisfying the necessary conditions.

After you’ve met all the requirements, try the sequence again. Then, go back and speak with Moros. He’ll notice the list of prophecies is changing, and this specific prophecy will be altered once more.

Melione, Find Us – Hades 2

Now for the final step, and the Fates once again give vague instructions:

Deep within Oceanus, use the gift from our emissary. Activate it three times, one after another, in different rooms. Afterwards, intentionally retreat into the shadows.

The “emissary’s gift” is the Engraved Pin Keepsake obtained from Moros. It gives you a second chance: if your HP drops to zero, you have 10 seconds to finish the current challenge. If you manage to do so, your health will be fully recovered.

You must take this Keepsake and travel to the underworld until you find Oceanus. Once there, you need to allow your health to drop to zero, but then defeat all enemies within ten seconds to protect yourself across the next three chambers. A good strategy is to focus on defeating enemies one at a time, making sure only one remains before letting your health reach zero.

After completing that step, enter another chamber and allow yourself to be defeated (remove any abilities that grant Death Defiance to simplify this). If you’ve followed all the steps correctly, a cutscene will play, showing Melione encountering the Three Fates, who then reveal the world’s future.
