In the latest version of Mario Kart, Toad and Peach were given new voice actors replacing Samantha Kelly who had voiced them for nearly two decades. Previously unidentified, these new voice artists were eventually able to disclose their identities following the game’s release.
In this production, Toad is given voice by Paul Castro Jr., while Courtney Lin lends her voice to both Peach (and Baby Peach). Both actors have a wealth of experience in the industry and are well-known to enthusiasts of HoYoverse games.
Castro Jr. plays the roles of Freminet in Genshin Impact and Opal in Honkai: Star Rail, while Lin was once Lucy’s voice actress in Zenless Zone Zero but stepped down from that role starting with ZZZ 1.1. She has also provided voices for numerous NPC characters in Genshin Impact and starred in Neon White.
“Can’t thank Nintendo enough for letting me live out this childhood dream,” Castro Jr. posted.
I’m eternally grateful to Nintendo for giving me the opportunity to help continue the legacy of such an iconic brand. These characters are more than just games; they transcend us as individuals. I feel incredibly honored and almost can’t believe it. I have immense respect for all the Peaches who came before me, especially the one I grew up with.
Over the last two years, both Mario and Donkey Kong have been given updated voice actors, indicating that there’s a significant shift in leadership at Nintendo.
