James Gunn, the filmmaker, has addressed the circulating speculations regarding the choice of Wonder Woman’s actress. Officially, no actress has been confirmed yet to take on the leading part. However, enthusiasts have expressed their belief that Adria Arjona could be an excellent fit for the character.
Yet, the DC co-leader posted on his Threads platform, stating that no casting for the Wonder Woman role has occurred thus far. Furthermore, he disclosed that the cast for the upcoming film won’t be finalized until the script has been fully written.
On his social platforms, the director of Superman announced that they, as a team, have made it a top priority to focus on Wonder Woman. Given the positive reception to the David Corenswet-led project, the upcoming film is progressing quickly.
James Gunn on casting of Wonder Woman
In response to questions regarding the selection of Wonder Woman, the DC leader (on Threads) stated that they are neither casting Wonder Woman nor even considering it until a script has been completed. Additionally, the director also discussed the casting choice of Milly Alcock in the role of Supergirl.
Following the unveiling of the initial movie poster, an executive from DCU responded to a comment suggesting the actress had been chosen due to her past performances, by saying she was cast for this role based on her prior acting work.
Gunn clarified, “Absolutely not. I don’t base my search for a major role on whether it’s TV, film, or anything else. The casting is what matters most to me. I didn’t choose Milly due to her past experiences, but because she was the perfect fit for the part.
It was determined that Alcock was ideally suited for the role, which is why he ended up being chosen for the movie.
One user inquired if the production of Wonder Woman was moving quickly due to Superman’s success. In response, the head of DC stated, “We prioritize it, but I wouldn’t use ‘fast-tracked.’ Nothing will be filmed unless we are confident that the script is excellent.
When discussing Arjona’s involvement in his movie, Gunn made it clear that simply following the actress on Instagram doesn’t guarantee her a part in his film.
Details about DC’s Wonder Woman will be rolled out soon.
