In 2025, Jordan Brand will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1. Though numerous eagerly awaited colorways and partnerships have been released and more keep coming, the team at Jumpman has saved one of its most significant projects for the following year. Toward the end of 2024, we shared news about a fresh collaboration emerging between fragment design, Union LA, and Jordan Brand to redesign the Air Jordan 1 High OG. Since that time, a revamped version of fragment design’s first AJ1 featuring Union’s stitched collar modification and a similar black-and-white design have both leaked online.
Joining the mix, we now catch a glimpse of a “Sport Royal” variant from the three-piece team, sported by none other than fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara. Similar to the other releases, Union’s Frankenstein-inspired uppers return, blending an original “Royal” foundation with white and navy collars this time around. The shoes also boast the fragment design thunderbolt logo embossed on the lateral heel, along with distinctive midsole text that labels the sneaker and its collaborators.
As I write this, neither Fragment Design, Union LA, nor Jordan Brand has disclosed any release information about the different colorways of the Air Jordan 1 High OG. Keep an eye out for updates, including a full view of the “Sport Royal” version, as we anticipate it to drop in springtime through Nike SNKRS and selected stores, priced at $205 USD starting point.
