‘Zootopia 2’ Smashes Box Office Records and Tops a Milestone Once Held by Titanic

Zootopia 2 is a huge success at movie theaters worldwide and is quickly becoming one of Disney’s most popular animated films of all time.

The movie has earned over $1.4 billion globally, making it the second-highest-grossing animated film ever released by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It’s also among the year’s biggest animated hits.

A major success for Zootopia 2 has come from China, where it sold over 100 million tickets – a feat no Hollywood film has accomplished there since Titanic. With around $550 million earned in China alone, it’s become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood movies in the country in recent years.

The new Zootopia movie, created by Walt Disney Animation Studios, reunites Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde for a thrilling case. This time, they’re the ones being chased as they try to prove their innocence and track down a mysterious new suspect.

Jared Bush wrote and co-directed the film with Byron Howard. The movie features returning voice actors like Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, as well as some new additions to the cast.

As a huge animation fan, I was so excited for Zootopia 2! It premiered in Hollywood around mid-November and then hit U.S. theaters right before Thanksgiving. And wow, it absolutely crushed it at the box office! It had one of the biggest opening weekends ever for an animated film, and globally, it made over a billion dollars in less than three weeks – that’s according to the studio, of course, but still amazing!

Reviews for the movie were generally very positive. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a high approval rating, with critics praising its thoughtful message, exciting story, and the charming partnership between the characters Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. They believe it’s a worthy sequel and a fun return to the world of Zootopia.

Viewers really liked the movie. It received an ‘A’ grade from CinemaScore, the same as the first film, and PostTrak reported a lot of people would recommend it.

Now that the movie has done so well, people are starting to talk about making a third one. The directors have said they’ve already started brainstorming ideas for a sequel, and a little hint at the end of the film has fans even more excited to see what happens next.
