Speaking directly to the microphone, the actress expressed a desire to travel back in time and re-film Gamora’s emotions throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. She also shared her belief that she didn’t fully grasp the directors’ intentions at the time of filming.
In her conversation with the Russo Brothers, Zoe Saldana expressed a desire to challenge herself more since portraying a troubled daughter-father relationship was an exceptional opportunity for her.
In the interview, the actress for Special Ops: Lioness expressed that it would have been beneficial for her character to either reconcile, heal, repair, or choose to leave the person – any of these scenarios would have offered a significant development. Unfortunately, she didn’t fully understand the role she was portraying on screen, which prevented her from making the most of this opportunity.
In the Marvel Studios movies, Gamora plays a significant part. Notably, she’s the child of the powerful villain known as Thanos, who serves as the primary adversary throughout the Infinity Saga.
Though Gamora constantly strived to win her adoptive father’s approval – despite his ruthless act of eliminating many of her loved ones – she secretly opposed him. In fact, she was privy to the power of the Soul Stone, yet chose not to reveal this information to Thanos, understanding the destruction he might unleash with it.
In the fourth Avengers film, Avengers: Infinity War, it is revealed that Gamora perishes at the hands of Thanos, despite his deep affection for her. This tragic event takes place as part of a bargain to acquire the elusive Soul Stone.
In Avengers: Endgame of 2019, despite the character meeting their demise on planet Vormir, Zoe Saldana once more portrayed her role, though this portrayal was from an alternate timeline.
She again joins hands with the Avengers, in an attempt to defeat Thanos once and for all.
The alternate timeline character of Gamora was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3.
In her recent post, Zoe Saldana was spotted collaborating with several esteemed celebrities including Selena Gomez, Karla Sofia Gascon, Edgar Ramirez, among others.
At the Cannes Film Festival, held in May, the project was met with an extended, one-minute long standing ovation when it was first presented.
