Zenless Zone Zero – Komano Manato build and promotion guide

Help your teammates succeed with the optimal Zenless Zone Zero Komano Manato build. This A-Rank Agent boosts his attack power by sacrificing his own HP. As a Rupture Agent, Manato deals Fire damage that’s actually considered Sheer damage, meaning it gets stronger as his maximum HP increases. Importantly, Sheer damage bypasses enemy defenses.

Manato creates Blazing Heart through two methods: he can use his Special Attack, ‘Return to Ashes – Sacrifice’ (holding the button charges it while costing HP), or by using Defensive Assist. He can store up to 100 Blazing Heart. Once he reaches 75 Blazing Heart, he enters the Molten Edge state, which constantly uses Blazing Heart to power up his regular attacks and unlock a stronger EX Special Attack.

His standard attack and follow-up attacks using Assist cost some of his health, but they deal more critical damage and build up his Adrenaline faster. While using Molten Edge, he also gets increased critical hit chance and fire damage.

  • Role: Rupture
  • Damage Type: Fire
  • Faction: Spook Shack
  • Rarity: A-Rank

Manato recovers health when hit while preparing his special attack, and also after using his extra-powerful special attack. If he has a teammate who provides Support or Stun, he gains an extra way to heal. Specifically, his combo attacks and ultimate moves will create a healing energy called Remnant Flame. This energy automatically activates to reduce the damage Manato takes from his own attacks, like his enhanced basic attack or follow-up moves.

Komano Manato’s Mindscape Cinema gets stronger as you collect multiple copies of him, and here’s what it does:

Level Effects
1 – Fire DMG dealt by Basic Attack and Assist Follow-Up increases based on total HP lost.
2 – Manato partially ignores enemy Fire RES during Molten Edge.

– Manato can transition into Assist Follow-Up when struck during his Special Attack.

3 – Increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack level by 2.
4 – Increases Manato’s Max HP.

– Allows Manato to survive a fatal hit during his Special Attack.

5 – Increases Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack level by 2.
6 – Manato gains Blazing Heart and Remnant Flame when hitting a stunned enemy with Special Attack and can transition into Assist Follow-Up afterwards.

– Fire DMG increases after hitting enemies with Assist Follow-Up (can stack up to 5 times).

ZZZ – Komano Manato: best W-Engines

Komano Manato’s special weapon, Grill O’Wisp, significantly increases his maximum HP and Fire damage. It also boosts his critical hit rate as his HP goes down, which happens often for Manato, letting him reliably benefit from this effect.

While current top-tier Rupture W-Engines provide good stat boosts, they’re specifically designed for certain Agents and won’t offer Manato any extra advantages.

Best W-Engines for Komano Manato in ZZZ:

  • Grill O’Wisp (A-Rank)
  • Radiowave Journey (A-Rank)
  • Puzzle Sphere (A-Rank)
  • [Cinder] Cobalt (B-Rank)

ZZZ – Komano Manato: best Drive Discs

Okay, so as a huge Komano Manato fan, I’m trying to build him perfectly! What I’ve learned is, after boosting his HP, you *really* want to focus on getting his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG as high as possible – that’s what makes him deal the most damage. Then, just fill in whatever slots are left with straight ATK boosts to get every little bit of extra power out of him!

Best Drive Disc sets for Komano Manato in ZZZ:

  • Yunkui Tales (4) + Branch & Blade Song (2) – +10% HP, +4% CRIT Rate when using EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate for 15s (stacking up to 3 times), +10% Sheer Force when all 3 stacks of this effect are active, +16% CRIT DMG.

Best Drive Disc stats for Komano Manato in ZZZ:

  • Partition 1 – HP (Primary), CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, HP %, ATK %
  • Partition 2 – ATK (Primary), CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, HP %, HP
  • Partition 3 – DEF (Primary), CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, HP %, HP
  • Partition 4 – CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate (Primary), CRIT Rate or CRIT Rate, HP %, HP, ATK %

  • Partition 6 – HP % (Primary), CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, HP, ATK %

ZZZ – Komano Manato: best teams

Manato is a strong, cost-effective damage dealer best used in Rupture teams. He performs well when frequently switched in and out of battle, allowing him to consistently trigger his powerful Assist Follow-Up ability.

  • Komano Manato (Main DPS), Ju Fufu (Sub DPS), Lucia (Support)
  • Bangboo: Miss Esme

As a player, I’m really loving Ju Fufu! She’s a fantastic Stun Agent – you don’t need to spend a ton of time on the field with her, and she can even help out when she’s off duty. Lucia’s great too, especially if you’re running Rupture Agents. She boosts their HP and gives them that Sheer Force ability. If you’re more of a Manato player, Pan Yinhu is a really solid pick to support him, since she’s also all about helping Rupture Agents shine.
