Zendaya made a statement at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie, The Drama, by re-wearing a white dress she first wore to the 2015 Oscars. She told Access Hollywood’s Zuri Hall that she chose the dress to connect with the film’s wedding theme and the tradition of “something old, something borrowed, something new.”
Zendaya explained that the outfit she chose was significant from her past, recalling wearing it to the Oscars when she was 18 years old. She described it as a pivotal moment for her, her family, and her community, and felt it was fitting to wear it again. Interestingly, the outfit was originally a wedding dress, making the choice feel even more special.

Kristoffer Borgli directs this darkly funny romantic comedy about a couple whose wedding plans fall apart in a hilarious and chaotic way. Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, a bookstore employee from Louisiana, and Robert Pattinson is her fiancé, Charlie Thompson, a museum director from Britain. The film also features Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, Zoë Winters, and Anna Baryshnikov.
I was so excited to hear Zendaya talk about weddings, but even more thrilled to hear how much she enjoyed working with Robert Pattinson! She said it was ‘really fun getting to explore this story with him,’ and you could really feel the chemistry between their characters – it definitely came across on screen!
Don’t miss the new film, THE DRAMA, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson! It’s directed by Kristoffer Borgli and hits theaters on April 3rd. Mark your calendars!

Zendaya’s outfit for the premiere was a brilliant connection to both her past red carpet looks and the film’s story, creating a moment that felt both deeply personal and like a scene from a movie.
