Zendaya Reportedly Refuses to Return in Cameo Role in “Spider-Man 4”

As a seasoned gamer who’s been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception, I can’t help but feel a twinge of anticipation for “Spider-Man 4”. However, the recent news about Zendaya‘s potential role in the movie has left me slightly puzzled.

The forthcoming film titled “Spider-Man 4” is set to join the lineup of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series. It was announced last year that the project is underway, but specifics about the movie are scarce at this point. However, Destin Daniel Cretton is rumored to be directing the film. There’s a strong possibility that Tom Holland and Zendaya will sign up for another round with the studio to reprise their characters.

Since the premiere of “No Way Home,” viewers have been debating if it’s plausible for Zendaya to appear again in future Spider-Man movies.

In “No Way Home,” Doctor Strange casts a spell, making everyone, including MJ, forget Spider-Man’s real identity. Peter Parker had the opportunity to reintroduce himself to MJ, but chose not to, thinking it was best for her and others if he kept his distance from their lives.

It appears that the writers may consider expanding Zendaya’s character in the upcoming movie, but given she doesn’t recall Peter, it seems improbable they would include her. As for a cameo appearance, Alex Perez, an industry expert, has confirmed that Zendaya will not be participating in one.

Michael: After the revisions to the plot of SM4, will Zendaya’s role in the film be substantial or more of a brief appearance? It would seem unwise to underutilize such a prominent actress as Zendaya.

Alex: Zendaya will not sign up for a cameo appearance, I’ll tell you that.

It makes perfect sense that Zendaya might turn down a small appearance, considering her high-profile position among today’s leading actresses in Hollywood.

In July 2024, it was confirmed that Zendaya, known for her award-winning role as Rue Bennett in “Euphoria,” will be back for the series’ third season. Unlike a short appearance, she is expected to dedicate her time primarily to Season 3 of “Euphoria” and other significant projects.

Furthermore, it’s been whispered that Sydney Sweeney’s portrayal of Black Cat might first appear in the next “Spider-Man” movie. This could potentially bring in a powerful secondary character and a fresh romantic interest, potentially taking over the role of MJ.
