As a cinephile with decades of film-watching under my belt, I must say that the upcoming collaboration between A24, Square Peg, Robert Pattinson, and Zendaya for director Kristoffer Borgli‘s The Drama is nothing short of a dream come true. The combination of these powerhouse talents promises to create a cinematic masterpiece that will leave audiences spellbound.
Following the triumph of his previous movie titled “Dream Scenario,” filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli is once again collaborating with A24, and it seems he has secured two highly influential actors for his upcoming romantic film. According to Deadline’s report, A24 is in preliminary discussions about incorporating Robert Pattinson and Zendaya into Borgli’s movie titled “The Drama.” In this project, A24 will not only finance but also produce the film. Borgli, who wrote the script, will take on the directorial role.
The details of the project remain undisclosed, but whispers suggest that the movie centers around a romantic tale with an unforeseen twist just before the wedding. Aster, Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone will be the producers under Square Peg for this production. Previously, A24 and Square Peg have teamed up on projects as well.
Previous collaborations between Square Peg Productions and A24 include films such as Hereditary, Midsommar, Dream Scenario, as well as forthcoming productions Death of a Unicorn featuring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, and Eddington starring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Emma Stone.
Eager to work together again following the achievement of “Dream Scenario” in autumn, A24 looked forward to partnering with Borgli once more. However, the project gained momentum when Zendaya expressed a keen interest to star as the lead. Though some details are yet to be finalized, Pattinson joined later on and the production has since become the studio’s top priority.
Following the blockbuster success of Dune: Part Two, earning over $700 million worldwide, Zendaya has truly had an exceptional year. Subsequently, she graced our screens in the tennis-themed drama Challengers, produced by Amazon MGM Studios. This film garnered positive feedback and grossed a total of $94 million at the global box office, with $50 million coming from U.S. theaters alone.
In addition to Steven Yeun and Mark Ruffalo, Robert Pattinson will be the main actor in Bong Joon Ho’s film titled Mickey 17, which is set to premiere in theaters next year. He has also appeared in The Batman (2022) and is set to star in Parker Finn’s remake of the 1981 horror movie Possession. Additionally, Robert Pattinson will soon start filming Lynne Ramsay’s movie titled Die, My Love.
