Years later, Zayn is now talking about his feelings and suggests he might not have ever truly been in love.

During a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, singer Zayn Malik discussed his relationship with Gigi Hadid. He explained that he’ll always have love and respect for Gigi, as she is the mother of his child, but wasn’t sure if he was ever in love with her. He made these comments while talking about his past relationships on February 11th.

Okay, so he basically said he adores her, like, seriously, but he doesn’t think it was ever lovelove. He said he loves her a crazy amount, but back then? Not romantic. And honestly, the way he acted around her… he thinks that proves it. He even said if he had* been in love, he would have been a better person. It’s just… heartbreaking, but it makes sense, you know? He’s so self-aware, and it just confirms everything I suspected!

He explained that his idea of love is constantly changing. While he doesn’t want to diminish his past relationships, he now recognizes that what he once thought was love might have been something else – perhaps just strong attraction or infatuation. He admits, ‘It probably wasn’t love.’

The couple share a five-year-old daughter, Khai, and are now co-parenting her. Before this, he was engaged to Perrie Edwards from Little Mix, and they dated from early 2012 until August 2015. The model is now in a relationship with Bradley Cooper, which began in 2023.
