Zack Snyder recently released a compelling new photo of Ben Affleck as Batman, highlighting the artistry of the filmmaking process and confirming Affleck’s portrayal of the iconic hero.
Zack Snyder shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram, noting it was taken with a Leica MD camera and a 28mm lens at f/1.7. He described it as a ‘Wide lens. Dark knight’ shot.
As a huge movie fan, seeing that set photo of Ben Affleck as Batman bursting through the smoke just felt like Snyder’s style. It’s that really wide shot, making everything feel massive and atmospheric – he used that look a lot in both Batman v Superman and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and it instantly took me back to those films.

Snyder’s Batman and The Dark Knight Returns
The timing of the post has again fueled speculation about Snyder’s future with the character.
If Netflix buys Warner Bros. Discovery, director Zack Snyder might finally be able to create a live-action version of The Dark Knight Returns. He’s often stated his desire to make it very faithful to the original comic book.
I’m hearing that Zack Snyder still really wants Ben Affleck to play Batman in his planned story. Apparently, Ben would be open to coming back if the conditions are right, which is fantastic news for fans like me!

Paramount Outcome Could Bring Full SnyderVerse Return
If Paramount acquires Warner Bros. Discovery instead of Netflix, sources say Zack Snyder’s DC universe would likely be revived, going beyond just a single Batman film.
We’ve learned from sources that Zack is developing ideas for future Justice League movies, and these plans include bringing back Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman.
James Gunn and Peter Safran have been sharing a lot of images from Zack Snyder’s DC Universe (DCEU) lately, featuring characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman. Sources say this is a way to see how fans react and what kind of interest there is in these characters and the old DCEU.
So far, the response has been loud.
