Zack Snyder Shares Batman Image as Netflix Deal Doubts Grow

Zack Snyder shared a new behind-the-scenes photo of Ben Affleck as Batman, a post that comes as there’s increasing uncertainty about Netflix potentially acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery.

Zack Snyder shared on Instagram about filming ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ in Detroit, recalling how he and Ben Affleck worked in freezing rain to create the atmosphere of Gotham City.

The scene features Ben Affleck as Batman walking through a rain-soaked and fiery Gotham City, evoking the dark and realistic style established by director Zack Snyder. This imagery appears as Netflix and Paramount are engaged in a business competition.

Netflix-WBD Deal Faces Regulatory Wall

The bigger story right now isn’t just the image. It’s the deal drama.

Recent reports indicate Paramount is now the leading contender in discussions to acquire certain assets from Warner Bros. Discovery. Betting markets are also suggesting Paramount is more likely to make the deal than Netflix.

Charles Gasparino of the New York Post believes David Zaslav is skillfully navigating a complex situation. Gasparino says Zaslav recognizes that Paramount needs Warner Bros. Discovery, Netflix is seeking expansion, and Netflix would face major obstacles from regulators.

According to Gasparino, Netflix might be minimizing the challenges it could face in getting approval, particularly in areas that strongly support Donald Trump. He also suggests that Zaslav could drive Netflix’s valuation up to $31–$33 a share—around $90 billion—and gain significant influence over both companies in the process.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos recently emphasized that the company is doing well even without Warner’s content.

That comment doesn’t exactly scream confidence or confirmation that Netflix is buying WBD.

SnyderVerse back in play, especially with Paramount win

If Paramount acquires DC, particularly with financial support from Saudi Arabia, there’s a strong chance Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Universe will be revived.

According to reports, Zack Snyder has been developing ideas for a follow-up to Justice League. Most of the original cast is expected to reprise their roles if a sequel moves forward, including Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ben Affleck as Batman, who Snyder specifically wants to include. However, Ezra Miller’s potential return as The Flash is uncertain.

We’re also told that if WBD is sold, James Gunn would be out as head of DC Studios.

There’s been talk that if Netflix can make a deal work, Zack Snyder might adapt The Dark Knight Returns with Ben Affleck reprising his role as Batman – a possibility fueled by the comic book’s 40th anniversary this year. However, that seems less likely now due to questions about regulations and Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos suggesting the company isn’t reliant on a partnership with Warner.

Snyder Keeps Posting — Coincidence?

As a huge fan of Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC universe, I’ve been loving all the images he’s been sharing lately! We’ve gotten glimpses of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Mera, Lois Lane, even the villain Steppenwolf, and he’s even teased storyboards from what could have been the sequel to the Justice League movie. It’s a real treat for us DCEU devotees!

We’ve been told this isn’t random.

These posts are meant to see how fans respond and show what kind of projects they’re excited about, especially now that company choices will heavily influence what happens with DC movies and TV shows.

Plus, fans are watching those Seedance AI videos with characters from the SnyderVerse millions of times.

As Paramount continues to grow and Netflix encounters challenges, the outlook for the SnyderVerse is looking increasingly positive.
