Zack Snyder Makes a Surprise Cameo on ‘The Studio’ and Jokes About the Snyder Cut

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the Apple TV+ series “The Studio,” which has an intriguing twist: it showcases renowned filmmakers appearing as themselves. The lineup so far includes cinematic greats like Martin Scorsese (“Flowers of the Killer Moon”), Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”), Olivia Wilde (“Don’t Worry Darling”), Parker Finn (“Smile”), and Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors”). Each episode adds a unique flavor to this captivating narrative, making it a must-watch for movie enthusiasts like myself.

They all engage with Matt Remick, portrayed by Seth Rogen, who’s now leading the make-believe Continental Studios.

In a surprising twist, the latest episode, named “The Golden Globes,” brought Zack Snyder onto the screen, unlike other directors who typically work behind the scenes. This appearance came during a high-profile segment within the show. Alongside Snyder, viewers also spotted Adam Scott from “Severance,” Quinta Brunson of “Abbott Elementary,” Jean Smart from “Hacks,” Aaron Sorkin of “The West Wing,” Ramy Youssef of “#1 Happy Family USA,” and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

The storyline revolves around Matt’s endeavor to persuade the talented actress-director, Zoë Kravitz, to express gratitude towards him during her acceptance speech at the Golden Globes.

Well, I guess none of my films fit into those categories!

For those who felt the show moved too quickly or wished it was longer, there’s no need to fret! I’m planning to offer a six-hour, black-and-white, 4:3 version of the show, similar to the Snyder Cut, for purchase on digital download and Blu-ray at $29.99.

I’m referencing Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the extended four-hour version he originally filmed, which hit HBO Max in 2021. After its initial completion by Joss Whedon in 2017. (First person: In my comment, I’m tipping my hat to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the extended four-hour version he originally filmed and finally released on HBO Max in 2021, which had been initially completed by Joss Whedon in 2017.)

Snyder maintained the original concept, ensuring the 4:3 aspect ratio, as this was his preferred presentation style.

For those of you who felt that the show moved too quickly or didn’t seem long enough…
